Jessie Altstatt from Santa Barbara Channelkeeper is working on an inventory of eelgrass along the Coast. And she needs your knowledge of local dive sites. Yes, only your knowledge will do!
Where along the Coast have you seen eelgrass on beach dives? If you can provide the date of the last dive, as well as the location, that would be primo.
By The Way, eelgrass tends to grow in 20' deep water or deeper, and has flat blades about 1/2 inch across. The thin, multibladed grass that grows in shallower water is surfgrass -- not the subject of this email.
