Hi, everyone. Just a reminder that the Paradise Dive Club is getting together at Tajiguas this Saturday at 10 a.m. for an Earth Day coastal cleanup. This is our club's event, not part of any statewide cleanup, so bring some gardening or other-type gloves, and don't forget sunscreen and a hat. The club will provide trash bags.
After the trash pick-up, some of our members plan to dive at Tajiguas and/or Refugio. Danita and our friends at Refugio State Park have arranged for us to have free access for the day, so when you pull up to the kiosk, just let them know you're with the Paradise Dive Club and they'll wave you on in. Danita has also arranged for us to use the group BBQ grill, so after everyone's done diving, we'll gather for a club BBQ around 1 p.m. As usual, the club will provide the meat; please bring your own beverage and a side dish to share.
This has become an annual tradition for the Paradise Dive Club, and it's a fun and rewarding way to honor Earth Day (and of course, our favorite 70% of the Earth--Ocean!). Hope to see you out there.
Directions to Tajiguas:
Take 101 North 1.8 miles beyond Refugio--look for the freeway turnaround point 2.1 miles past Refugio, hang a u-turn, and go .3 miles to the large dirt parking area.
