Forwarding to all I can think of.....
Ok, I have this bridle I have had forever...not even sure where I got it (it
just seems to have always been in my tackroom, LOL)..I guess it would be what's
called the "poco bueno" style (from poking around ebay)...rolled leather with
ferrules and a decoration in the middle of the browband... Anyway, it is a bit
too big for my 4yo and I wanted to find one like it, but can't seem to. Then, I
thought maybe I would make my own bridle (want one in black for her anyway, this
is brown and black on her darkish-red bay coat looks SOOOO elegant :) ) I can
NOT find but one little site that had any ferrules to buy. What gives? Google
has FAILED me... lots of sites that have something to do with electrical
supplies (guess they use them to close off or join wires together), but not tack
supplies... I mean, bridle makers have to get them somewhere, right??
Now for the special part..they are not just plain "tubes" ferrules like on the
ebay-bridles...these are SO neat looking...kinda a "lattice" work cut into
them...I will take pics later today and post this evening.... If any of you
saddle peeps have an idea where to find this kind of stuff, let me know. Or, if
anyone knows where I can find a bridle similar to this one, but in black, also
let me know... (cob size of course...dang arabs won't fit in "horse" bridles,
LOL)..will post pics of the bridle later...
thanks!
Nat
“Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down
like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion.
It seizes a person
whole and, once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life
will be radically changed.”–Ralph Waldo Emerson.
