RE: [PNER] Volunteering at Rides for Team Points

I've put some thought into this idea, and while it's a good one, I realize it's
an idea...meant to open a dialog meant to encourage more volunteerism among the
PNER endurance family.

I don't think we should give "team points" out for volunteering at a ride
because some teams have more members than others. Some teams are in
"geographically challenged" areas, i.e. BF Montana, BF So. Oregon, BF So. Idaho,
etc...and this would perhaps find them at a disadvantage. It just wouldn't be
fair to some of the teams and that's not what the PNER teams are all about.
They're about gathering points at rides, with three riders completing a
distance. Simple, fun, and effective in encouraging team members to attend
rides.

I think instead PNER should consider adding a "team challenge" in the spirit of
the lip sync contest at convention last year. The award does not have to be some
big hairy fantastic expensive thing, hopefully it would be something in the
spirit of fun and team competition.
