I apologize, but due to unforseen circumstances I must postpone the
Birthday Challenge until March 26th.
The Race will be at 12:00 noon (or thereabouts) at Pilot Knoll Park
on Lake Lewisville. There is a small day use fee for park usage ($5
a car for driver and one passenger, $1 a person for extra people,
kids under 10 free) Its a nice park with plenty of waterside picnic
tables and grills. There is a boat ramp and there is camping ($20)
if you want to stay overnight. (If you plan to camp, you might need
to call 940 455 2228 for reservations. They tell me its a popular
camp spot)
IF you are coming from the North on I35E, take the Garden Ridge exit
and follow Garden Ridge to the right until you run into Hwy 407.
Turn right (west) and proceed until you get to Chinn Chapel Road.
Turn right (north) and proceed until you get to Orchard Hill Rd.
Turn Right (east) follow Orchard Hill road to the Park Gate.
If you are coming from the South on I35E, Take the Valley Ridge exit
and go west on Valley Ridge until you find Garden Ridge, turn right
(north) on Garden Ridge until you get to Hwy 407, turn left (west)
and follow 407 to Chinn Chapel Road, turn right (north) and continue
on Chinn Chapel to Orchard Hill Road, turn right and follow Orchard
Hill to the Park gate.
The directions would be easier if the DOT didnt have the 407 exit
from I35E closed.
Anyone with a Pdracer is encouraged to come, we will have sign up
for the race starting at 10 am. It should be easy to find us, just
head to the day use area and look for the puddleduck racer.
