MINUTES OF THE JUNE 22, 2008 PINE BLUFF GUN CLUB MEETING

The June 22, 2008 meeting of the Pine Bluff Gun Club was held at the
office of Paul Davis and called to order at 2:00 PM.

The minutes of the January 20, 2008 meeting were unanimously approved.

Clay Cross presented the financial report for the club. There is
roughly $10,000 in checking with $5,000 of that the NRA Range Grant
Funds. CD's are around $3,500. Plans are to get the CD value up to
$5,000 so as to have an emergency reserve fund.

Match directors gave their reports. Don Smith encouraged everyone to
come out to the shotgun and varmint shoots. They have a new wobble
thrower for the shotgun and some challenging targets on the varmint
side. Kyle Wood says the IDPA shoots are going strong. Several new
action items have been added to their shoots as well. Mark Blackwood
has the bowling pin matches going using a combination of rimfire and
centerfire guns with plans to add in some steel.
The 4H Shooting Sports have a good group of kids and some have shot
at the state level. Please encourage any youth you know to try it out.

Diana Cole was the winner of the S&W Sigma NRA dinner gun we raffled
off. That raffle brought in $1,290 - roughly a $200 profit for the
club.

The Special Olympic Benefit Shoot donated $2,200 all of which is to
stay in our district.

The range has electrical access at all bays - it turns on at the club
house switch. A big thank you to Jerry Jacks and Don Smith for that.

The new road from the end of the old parking lot down to the shotgun
range has now been built with use of the NRA funds. If we can get
more grant money the road is to be extended all the way around the
proposed parking lots as well. There is available from the NRA fill
material for the parking lot and range area but it requires us to
supply a flat bed truck to haul it and unload it ourselves. The
bales weigh a ton from what we hear. If any of you have access to
equipment that we could borrow to get this please let one of the
officers or board members know.

Please remember to renew your NRA membership through the club as we
get funds back from that.

There are 2 new porta potties at the range. One by the club house
and the other between the last action pistol bay and the shotgun
range. This should make it much more appealing for females and youth
to attend shoots. They will receive regular cleaning.

DUES WERE DUE BY JULY 1, 2008. IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID BY THE 15TH YOU
ARE SUBJECT TO DELETION FROM THE CLUB ROSTER AND HAVE TO REAPPLY TO
REINSTATE YOURSELF!!!!

The Delta Rivers Friends of the NRA are having their dinner on
September 6, 2008 at the Banquet Barn on Highway 63 South. This is
where our grant money came from. Please turn out and support this
cause. It is the nonpolitical arm of the NRA. Mike Monk is the
chairperson of the event. Let Mike Monk, Mike Holland or Clay Cross
know if you can help sell tickets for the event or if you can help in
any fashion. The club has agreed to again be a Freedom Level Sponsor
of the event. One of our members won the big gun prize last year!

It was approved that the club send a letter of commendation to Larry
Morgan from the Benton Gun Club that has been to most of our shoots
and gone above and beyond what would be expected of a nonmember to
make sure that we had adequate help and staffing in a number of areas.

Mike Holland reminded us that the Boy Scouts also had a good day at
the range for instruction and shooting to get their merit badges.

The club was also reminded of a non-sanctioned potluck dinner and 22
shoot held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the range with dinner at
6 PM and shooting around 7 PM.. Bring you and your wife, kids or
significant other out to the event. It is a combination of accuracy
and speed. There are all ages represented there.

The next meeting date for the club was set as January 25, 2009 at the
office of Paul Davis in the I-530 Medical Mall at 2:00 PM .

Elections were held with no change in the officers or trustees.
