Club members support and enjoy both non-competitive and competitive group running events in the Palo Alto area and neighboring communities. Runners of all ages, abilities, and ambitions are invited to join and participate in our running and social activities.
Our regularly scheduled club runs are non-competitive and vary in length. The middle of the pack runs at about an 8-minute per mile pace, but there's a large spread. You can almost always find someone to run either slow or fast with.
Wednesday Night Run
Every Wednesday, a run of between 5 and 7.5 miles leaves about 6:15 p.m. from the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto. The running route is rotated among current favorites. Before the run (a little after 6 p.m.), a brief club meeting is held at which new members are welcomed, race results are shared, and future races and club activities are announced. After the run, club members gather for dinner at a local place where beer and wine is served. The dinner location is announced at the pre-run meeting.
Additional weekly runs are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, and on Saturday mornings. Once a month, a trail run is organized.
The club holds yearly anniversary and holiday parties, summer barbeques, and other get-togethers. Club members enjoy complimentary club sportswear and discounts at local running stores.
