I agree with Doug.  I prefer a snugger fit and normally wear a large.  The Parlee large fit accordingly.

They run small... At least in the shoulders. If you like a tighter fit then go
with your normal size. If you want a bit more room, go up a size.

Hello everyone! I just did a little upgrading. I upgraded to dura ace
10 speed w/ a cordless Flight Deck, Zero Gravity brakes, FSA K Force
cranks. I went on my first ride and I love it!!! The brakes are
wonderful and have incredible stopping power and the new dura ace
shifts like silk. I have posted photos:

Hey all,

Well, the new website (www.parleecycles.com) is up and running.
While it may not look like much now, the good news is that it is now
designed so that we can add to it and edit it easily ourselves.

So, we're planning a number of enhancements, such as a gallery, some
info on custom geometry that has been discussed here, and even an
FAQ to provide more detail on our frames.

Take a look, and let me know what you think, but be nice... we're
still new at this.

I took my Z2 out yesterday for it's first ride. I have been lax since
having it built and havent used my rollers, so it really was the first
ride. It was a 20 mile loop with plenty of hills. It was a beutiful,
sunny, if a little windy 54 degrees. I probably could have gotten
away without all the clothes I was wearing, but I was comfortable.

Riding along the river was simply stunning. After a winters
hibernation the burn in my lungs felt like freedom. My bike fit like a
glove, all of the work that my LBS went through to fit me surely paid
off. I could only sense the need for a slight twist to my saddle to
compensate for my crooked hips.

My change over from SPD to speedplay X2's was the most trying part of
getting used to the bike. For th elife of me I couldnt get snapped in
before taking off at lights. Once underway, snapping in became a
little easier. Big learning curve coming up, I can tell. I also
noticed that the chain stays seem to be thicker that I am used to and
had to be careful not to hit them with my heels, and since my pedals
are not spring centered and free floating it cant be helped with a
cleat adjustment

The overall ride was what I had expected, going from a steel Waterford
to a carbon bike. All of my expectations were set when I did all of my
testriding, I knew what to expect. The only difference was the superb
fit...it really changes the ride considerably.

The new Arione saddle was a big step up from my anatomic saddle; very
comfortable, easy on my nuts. The FSA mega exo crank was invisible,
the only comparison I have is to my Chorus crank which was noisy as
hell. I dont know enough to say whether it is stiff of whatever, but
it works and it looks cool(since we're being honest).

I had the bike built up with a set of velocity wheels, 32 in the front
and 36 in the rear, so they are pretty stout (heavy) but with my own
weight (220) I wanted something I could abuse.

I plan om giving it another 100 miles or so and I will go through it
and tweak the things that may need it.

I didnt ride long enough or fast enough to evaluate much more than my
immediate comfort, and I didnt have my HRM on so I dont know what my
speed or cadence was, but for my first ride it was enough just to feel
my body moving.

Here at PARLEE we don't, and haven't had any problems.
The stud and dome nuts are both Stainless Steel, and shouldn't give
you any problems. That said, on a clear-coated frame, the AntiSeize
won't cause any problems other then a big potential mess.

I have recently spec'ed my bike (expected April sometime) with the FSA SLK - and, this changed my entire build.  Originally going for the Campy Chorus Carbon Compact, but due to the old style wedge spindle I am now leaning toward a Shimano configuration with the above referenced crankset (Isis-standard bottom bracket).  Why the SLK?  At a recent bike show here in Seattle I had a chance to talk with the FSA guys (they are based here).  The general concenus is that 40-gram savings in weight is not worth the additional spend.  To my understanding, the difference between the two is that the K-Force is hand laid up and has a nicer visual appeal.  The SLK is compression molded around an aluminum sleeve (hence the +40 grams) - it still has the good looks of carbon and should compliment your Parlee just fine.  The key is that when you order, be sure to spec the correct rings - this in not presently listed in the FSA parts catalogue - they have three types:  Shimano 9-spd, Shimano 10-spd, and Campy CT.  This is important, since each system utilizies a different chain and hence has a different corresponding ramp and pin design on the rings.

Other things to think about if you are concerned about "optimum" front derailleur shifting:  Campy is offering a CT (compact) specific derailleur (more curve to the cage for better pick up and release);  also, IRD is expected to be releasing a USA made compact front derailleur this winter / spring.  Don't be surprised if Shimano offers something similar next year (just a guess).

Finally - sorry to hear about all the crappy weather everyone has been having back east - in Seattle, this is the driest winter in ~30 years - I have been getting in 100 - 150 mile weeks since late December, with a high of 180-miles the first week of March (amount of daylight has been the real issue!!!!!).

Alan,
I have the SL-K MegaExo compact on my Z1x. Only one ride of 35 miles
last Sunday. I was very concerned about the big jump from 34 to 50.
No problems on that end. I did have significant shifting issues on
the casette end. But that was just a set up problem. Once reset, the
shifting was fine for the couple of spins around the block. Not as
crisp as the DA10 53-39, but fine. Agree with ex99125b that they
sure do look nice out of the box.

I'm still trying to get a good photo for my office wall at work as a
reminder of why I work so hard.

Carbon Crank recommendations?
Hi: I want to get some new cranks and could anyone please let me know
what carbon cranks they would recommend? I was thinking about the FSA
K-FORCE MEGAEXO Crank, does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks!
Alan

PS:
Knee update: I have been the PT for a few weeks and I am about ready
to get back on the bike from a 3 month rest and one month since my
surgery. I am feeling much better, not yet 100% and I hope that my
knee problems are in the past.

quattro,
I only have one 35 mile ride in due to weather. But for shifting
problems, it was one very sweet ride. How much was the Parlee and
how much was the topo's- don't know yet. I had her up to 40+ mph
(steep downhill) and stood and hammered an 11%-12% and wheels were
stable and solid.

I very much liked the BioMorph bars on the hoods, tops and end of
drops. As I moved towards the hooks and in the hooks I did have
clearance problems with my wrists hitting the top of the bars. The
end of the drops are a long. I did not have knee clearance problems,
but can imagine that some might when standing and sprinting.

I recently started playing with doing short uphill sprints while
standing and in the drops. Definate wrist clearance problems.

Looking out the window, it may be a while before I get more miles
in. I'll update the review as I get saddle time on the Parlee.
