The MegaExo is on the list. Back ordered until 1/15/05 at least at
CC. I like the big gear also, but my legs cannot seem to support it
enough to make worthwhile.

The original plan was to go with the Kyserium Sl and have the silver
outline decals. I would add silver cages and have that Oakland
Raiders Black & Silver thing going. Topo's throw off the plan.

My Z2 (yellow outline decals) is also about that far from delivery.

FSA is coming out with a road version of their atb mega exo crank/bb.
The road external bearing crank/bb called the "k-force mega exo". It
should be available any time now, certainly by the time our bikes are
done. Its my choice, for a few reasons:
I can keep my Ergo shifter and still get the external bearings,I like
the idea of the external bearings, but wont go dura-ace.
I have had some trouble with the Chorus square taper.
I like the big gear.

Its a non compact (53-39) crank, same carbon set up as the compact.

I went with Velocity Deep V wheelset(32F/36R) on Chorus hubs. Slightly
heavy but so am I, I need the stoutness.

I will also go with a Fizik saddle, but prefer the Arione; very
comfortable.
Other than the reynolds fork and the Chorus/Record mix I havent chosen
the other bits yet.

Although delivery of my Z1x is at least 6 weeks away, I'm thinking
of what to hang on her. Thoughts/comments appreciated.

Working plan is:

Topolino wheelset
Thompson X2 stem (coming out 1/05)
Thompson post (masterpiece)
DA 10 12-25
Fizik Aliante saddle
Ritchey bars
FSA carbon compact
Ouzo Pro Lite

I'm especially looking for feedback on Topolino and Pro lite.

Hmm... No.

We've joked about building a carbon MTB, but will probably build a
cross bike first. Unless of course, there is a big group of people
that really want one.

The best way to buy a PARLEE mountain bike would be to get together
5 people who would be willing to pay $10,000 each to have the first
5 "Signature Edition" PARLEE mountain frames, and we'll get
working! ;-)

I actually had to deal with Parlee direct because they do not have a
dealer in Texas. The level of service at Parlee is top notch and
they don't seem to mind the daily calls from customers asking "When

We have three simple options:
1. Gloss clear coat
2. Matte finish clear coat
3. Custom paint (fades, panels, pearls, etc.)

That said, *about* 90% have been gloss clear, 8% have been matte,
and 2% color... or something roughly like that.

We offer a number of decal colors, and can also make custom decal
colors. For example, we did a custom Blue/white decal set, where
the blue matched a Blue King headset.

I'll post some pictures in the gallery.

Thanks again! I went on a ride yesterday and someone asked me the
question about the mitering of the tubes and I kind of felt a bit dumb
not knowing the answer. I was surprised that he had even heard of
Parlee, most members of the bike club that I ride with don’t. So when I
came home for my own interest I when to Parlee’s web page and I did not
find the answer there and I was very happy to find that you knew the
answer.
Cheers,
Alan

The way it works is that the tubes are cut and mitered and put in the jig, then the lugs are made in place and molded in place.  The end result is nothing short of revolutionary:  unlike other bikes that have sloppy glue layers between the lugs and tubes, Parlees have none.  There is no glue demarcation line on a cross section of tube/lug.  This is a major part of why Bob's bikes ride more like a fine steel bike than everyone else's dead feeling carbon bikes.

I just put in my order for a z2, 55cm. I chose an Alpha Q Sub 3

choices. I was initially thinking solid white but I like the red
with white outline. Any thoughts?
