I have recently spec'ed my bike (expected April sometime) with the FSA SLK - and, this changed my entire build. Originally going for the Campy Chorus Carbon Compact, but due to the old style wedge spindle I am now leaning toward a Shimano configuration with the above referenced crankset (Isis-standard bottom bracket). Why the SLK? At a recent bike show here in Seattle I had a chance to talk with the FSA guys (they are based here). The general concenus is that 40-gram savings in weight is not worth the additional spend. To my understanding, the difference between the two is that the K-Force is hand laid up and has a nicer visual appeal. The SLK is compression molded around an aluminum sleeve (hence the +40 grams) - it still has the good looks of carbon and should compliment your Parlee just fine. The key is that when you order, be sure to spec the correct rings - this in not presently listed in the FSA parts catalogue - they
have three types: Shimano 9-spd, Shimano 10-spd, and Campy CT. This is important, since each system utilizies a different chain and hence has a different corresponding ramp and pin design on the rings.
Other things to think about if you are concerned about "optimum" front derailleur shifting: Campy is offering a CT (compact) specific derailleur (more curve to the cage for better pick up and release); also, IRD is expected to be releasing a USA made compact front derailleur this winter / spring. Don't be surprised if Shimano offers something similar next year (just a guess).
Finally - sorry to hear about all the crappy weather everyone has been having back east - in Seattle, this is the driest winter in ~30 years - I have been getting in 100 - 150 mile weeks since late December, with a high of 180-miles the first week of March (amount of daylight has been the real issue!!!!!).

Carbon Crank recommendations?
Hi: I want to get some new cranks and could anyone please let me know
what carbon cranks they would recommend? I was think about the FSA
K-FORCE MEGAEXO Crank, does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks!
Alan
PS:
Knee update: I have been the PT for a few weeks and I am about ready
to get back on the bike from a 3 month rest and one month since my
surgery. I am feeling much better, not yet 100% and I hope that my
knee problems are in the past.
