Re: [OldSkoolTrack] Non messenger fixed riders...
And since Kirk went first, I will follow.
A lot of you know me, I am Scott Patton, I (with much help from Kirk) keep
www.FixedGearFever.com alive and running. FixedGearFever is a pet project
turning into a business to help promote track racing. Messengers and road
fixie riders are DEFINITELY a fast growing group of track racing cyclists!
I have been racing since about 1978 (on and off). I started riding a
fixed gear back in about 1979, becuase that's what you did in the winter.
My first fixie was a nishiki something or othe with a 1" pitch set up. We
still have the set up in my parents basement!
I have an assortment of bikes, too many to list, but my fixed bikes are
both Ground Up customs.
I am about to (you heard it FIRST) release a new frameset... the
FixedGearFever Flyer which will be an American made track racing frameset.
Details to be announced in the next 2 weeks!
My racing career is uneventful, but I have enjoyed it! I enjoy riding
fixed as often as possible, but in Colorado Springs, the hills aren't
always the best on a fixie. Record RPM on the road is about 210
(calculated, not counted or on a computer).
I guess that's enough for now!
