Hi,
Sid from cali here. Im *brand new to fixed gear riding. (*I had a fixed beach
cruiser...). I just picked up a fixed gear conversion 10 spd from ebay. and I
was
wondering how to measure or do the math to make the gear ratios make sense.
Here
in San Diego the entire city is divided up by canyons, meaning anywhere you go
is
down then up an canyon. The bike I bought is "12x42x170mm" which I read as 12
tooth hub, 42 tooth sprocket, 170mm crank... and thats all I can get from those
numbers. I dont know what they mean in terms of riding/spinning down hill.
any help would be great
thanks
