*** OLD SKOOL TRACK Message Board ***

This group is for anyone out there riding their track bike on the street. Riding tracks in the street has a vibrant tradition among urban bike messengers, road racers improving their spin, and old skool riders who've "done it that way / since back in the day."

What exactly do we mean by track bikes? Bicycles with a single-speed fixed-gear, no brakes, and horizontal track dropouts for the rear wheel.

Track bikes are making a comeback, and you can see more on city streets each year. They’re ultra-low maintenance. No cables, pulleys, or levers. And riding one of these sleek machines gives you an unparalleled taste of smoothness, control, and oneness with your surroundings. And you don't need a $3000 Italian frame or Campagnolo parts. These days, lots of people are trying one of the recent economical fixes from Bianchi, Fuji, KHS, Surly, De Bernardi and others. And of course there are many exotic and old skool frames that are duly beloved.

The Old Skool Track list welcomes old skool riders, new skool riders, messengers, newbies, and the curious. All topics pertaining to track bikes and their riders are invited.

Please treat others with the same respect with which you yourself would like to be treated.

Ride safe!

Japanese frame building video?
I'm wondering if anybody has a link to that brief Japanese track frame-building video that came out a few years ago -- I lost it in a hard/drive crash. Doomo
