Hello all-

Geneva is a bit of a reach from Cincinnati in December.

Two 2010 notes worth mentioning;

May, I went to Cleveland for 50th college reunion at Case.
After trip to Youngstown/Poland (did Nelson's from there a bit),
I went to Put-In-Bay to find the corner (near airport) from first
flagging experience). Home after Mid-Ohio.

October, I bracketed the two Mid-Ohio races with Lake Erie
(including Ashtabula-Fairport Harbor visits and Marietta).
Please all give thanks for the many Ohio natural gifts.

Hope to see you all via Driver Info.
Afraid a titanium hip and nearly 73 years keeps corners as fond
memories.

Fond regards. Phil (POG) Osborn

Come and see the competitive racing of the Buckeye Quarter Midgets in the O'Neil/Swine Building.http://buckeyequartermidget.com/indoor.html
The racing is FREE, but there is a $5 parking charge.

For those early birds, we will be meeting at the McDonald's at I-71 and 17th Ave. Plan on being there at 10:00 am, if you are coming for breakfast.

If you are coming in town for the OVR Banquet, stop down for a while to enjoy the fun! If you are not going to the OVR Banquet, come out to Rooster's http://www.roosterswings.com/locations/info.php?location=100 at 4650 W. Broad St., to enjoy some great wings. We will meet there between 4:30 & 5:00 pm.

Please feel free to pass this on to anyone, who may be interested. Keep February 12th open, a second get together!

Hello!

I'm a Lexington native that grew up attending races in the 79s and 80s. I
recently moved back to Mansfield and am interested in becoming a race official
of some sort @ Mid Ohio and any other area venues. Mid Ohio's website links to
this group as a resource to learn about becoming a race official. Any
information will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I have spoken to a couple of people, about organizing a road trip to Virginia International Raceway (VIR) for their "SCCA Oak Tree Double Nationals" on April 15-17, 2011. According to the LEC schedule, nothing is going on at Mid-Ohio or Nelson Ledges, that weekend.

From what I've heard, VIR http://www.virnow.com/ is a very beautiful facility and I understand that the North Carolina Region picks up the tab for a motel, for that race.

Hello Folks,

Thanks to my friend Toni Cumbess, I have the latest issue of Vintage Motorsport,
to hand out, to all that come! In this issue is coverage of the Goodwood
Revival, SVRA Mid-Ohio, VSCDA Elkhart Lake, the 1984 Jaguar XJR-5 GTP, George
Follmer's Favorite Race, and much more! On the news stand, this magazine goes
for $8.95. That should help cover the cost of the $5 parking at the fairgrounds.

Tomorrow's the day! Of those attending, or maybe attending, we have people
representing, Lake Erie Communications, Sports Car Club of America, Central Ohio
Open Wheel Race Fans, ARCA Trucks, and USAC.

The weather will not slow the drivers from showing up, so don't let that slow
you down. The racing is done in an unheated building, but if you dress for the
outside weather, you'll be plenty comfortable inside. Some of the teams have
heaters, which takes some of the edge off.

If you are not meeting us for breakfast, at McDonald's. We generally sit in the
stand in the northeast corner(close to the scales).

For those of you, who are coming, this Saturday, it looks like the weather is going to cooperate.

If you haven't been there before, it's best to dress for the weather outside and you'll be plenty comfortable inside.

Once you get to the fairground's gate, if you see a sign that says $10 for parking, make sure that you tell them that you are there for the quarter midgets. It sounds crazy, but the price varies, depending on what you are there to see. You should only pay $5.

It should be a good time, to see old friends and make new ones!

Hi Everyone!

Some of you may already know this but I wanted to pass this along to as many members of our region as I could.  One of our own, Randy Hoover, has suffered the loss of his daughter unexpectedly.  Amy is also the niece of Brian and Neva Hoover.  Please keep Randy and his family in your thoughts and prayers.  The funeral details are below if anyone would like to know those.

I came across the this group in the search for 1960's race results.  I am researching the race history on my 1965 MGB roadster that competed at Mid Ohio and surrounding areas many times in the mid to late 1960s -

  • I am looking for copies of period race results for the E Production class race at the below Mid Ohio events and other tracks in the mid-west.

  • If anyone has any period race results, please send email direct to

The Driver was Richard Remenak, car # was typically #20, but also used #2 and #3 at times.

You say "Too bad the video is so shaky and short." -

I say Too bad the car is so ugly (but the video could have been longer IMO)
