We had a five people at the meeting last night. Monte and Jake were out of town
but we tried to meet anyway because we skipped June. Here's what we talked
about:
1. Arrowhead - I showed the preliminary design for the new trail system at
Arrowhead. Mike Riter is waiting on us to make any revisions that we want and
then he will finalize it. When he is done we need to pay him for the design. I
also suggest that we pay him to flag the first loop that we decide to build. He
will be able to create a better trail if he physically flags it and it will be
easier for us to build.
We should be preparing to have our first work party as soon as it starts to cool
off, possibly towards the end of August.
Van suggested that we talk to the county about signage for the trail and whether
there will be a fee for SORBA/IMBA members to use the park.
I was asked to post our progress with Arrowhead to the OMBA and CGC yahoo groups
and I will do that.
2. Trail maintenance - The Pig Trail needs lots of trimming and some shovel
work. If you're out there and have some time, take some loppers and trim a
section back. If we could get 5-6 people together we could knock out the whole
thing.
Thomson looks good but also needs some trimming. I passed someone working out
there yesterday.
East Macon needs chainsaw work. I will try to get out there next week and I'll
post when I go.
3. Trip to NC - Mike and I are still planning a trip to ride Dupont and Pisgah
on the weekend of July 18th/19th. Details are coming.
