This workshop will teach invaluable information to individuals and groups
interested in
learning effective ways to build environmentally friendly sustainable trails.
Georgia Trails
Education Specialist, Walter Bready will teach essential steps in designing,
building,
maintaining, and managing natural-surface paths. The morning session will
involve a two
hour lecture followed by a break for lunch. The second session is optional and
involves
hands-on experience using trail building tools.
Visit the Museum website for driving directions. www.masmacon.com
Do you plan on helping with the second session, trail restoration from
1:00-4:00? If so,
please bring a few hand tools and gloves if you have them. I have attached a
list of trail
building tools. You will be rewarded for your hard work. I have books and DVD's
to give
away for anyone who works on the Loblolly Trail. They include: Trail training
DVD series,
Equestrian Design guidebook for Trails, Wetland Trail Design and Construction,
Geosynthetics for Trials in Wet Areas, Building Mountain Bike Trails,
Sustainable Single
track DVD, and Trail Construction and Maintenance Notebook.
Thank you, hope to see you there.
