Hello, Ultimate in Mexico wants you!!!! For the past 6 years we have
promoted a tournament (Ultimate Fiesta en Pie de la Cuesta, Acapulco,
Mexico) on the Pacific side of our Country, NOW it is time to go
promote on the ATLANTIC Side. (Gulf of Mexico)

We are organizing an Ultimate Tournament together with some Rafting
and some Beach Ultimate . This will be a Coed Hat Tournament, in the
city of Xalapa, VERACRUZ which means you don't need to come a full
team to come down here and help us Promote Ultimate in the
Universidad Veraruzana!!!! (Veracruz University- UV)

This experience will be held the last week on August and it has been
designed so that you can make the most of it depending on your time.
Our website is:
www.ultimatemexico.netfirms.com

We will also be holding some clinics in the month of July and this is
the deal: You become an ultimate coach for a couple of weeks in
exchange for bed and breakfast, plus you get to practice your Spanish
and hang out with the Ultimate Players in San Luis Potosi, Mexico
which will show you a good time (If you don't speak Spanish don't
worry, we will teach you some J If you are interested on either or
contact me at ultimatemexico@...

(Have you planned your summer vacation? Maybe you could help us out! J

First of all, my email has been screwed up for a while
now, so if you
have emailed me about a bid and haven't received a
reply, i have no
idea you are coming. I am pretty certain that i have
fixed the
problem, so if you aren't on the interested team list
below and plan on
coming please email me again asap with the word nasty
in the subjuect
line. Sorry about that.

Our intramural fields have been reserved, and they are
as nice of
fields as you will ever play on, seriously. A bar has
been reserved
for the party. A band called The Clinical Mops that
includes members
of our college team will be playing,
www.woodeneyerecordings.com.

As always, there will be more "tournament food" than
you will need. We
will have fruit, bagels and water. Each team will
receive a new game
disc. We have room for 20 open teams and
10 women's teams. Norman is a great place to come to
a tournament
because interstates 35, 40 and 44 all run within 15
minutes of the
fields. There will be a lot of free housing
available, and will be
given to those who ask first. The cost is $180. This
is a upa
sanctioned event, but considering it is just after
club season
we shouldn't have to sign many new people up.

If your team wants to come or if you have any
questions, email me at
cbay at ou dot edu. Send checks to chris bay, 630
chautaugua apt. 2,
norman
ok 73069.

I don't know why we don't have a website. My
webmaster is a bum.

I know that i have missed a lot of emails from people,
so just email me
again and we will get this straightened out.

Women's teams:
Colorado State
Kali (Colorado)
Austin (Luisa Silva)
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State

Open:
Scott Morse
Mizzou (paid)
UNT
Arkansas
Tulsa 2 teams
Oklahoma 2 teams
Oklahoma City

Chris.

Bids are now being accepted for Just Plain Nasty in
Norman Oklahoma.
If you came last fall you know that the OU intramural
fields are
arguably the best fields in this part of the country.
They will be
lined and are so good, our football team practices
there from time to
time. The date is Oct. 15-16.

As always, there will be more "tournament food" than
you will need. We
will have fruit, bagels, and water. Each team will
receive a new game
disc. There will be a party with a live band, but I
am not sure if it
will be at a bar or a house party. We have room for
20 open teams and
10 women's teams. Norman is a great place to come to
a tournament
because interstates 35, 40 and 44 all run within 25
minutes of the
fields. There will be a lot of free housing
available, and it will be
given to those who ask first. The cost is $180.

This is will probably
be a upa sanctioned event, but considering it is just
after club season,
we shouldn't have to sign many new people up. We will
have a trainer on hand for injuries.

Also since it is just after club season many of you
will be focusing on your college team. OU will have
two college teams playing, and I don't know if it will
be split squads or a/b. Regardless, bring your
college teams out and we can all get a look at each
other.

We will have a tournament webpage at
oklahomaultimate.org in the next
week.

Last year we had to turn away a few teams, so I will
just take the first 20 teams that send me a check, and
if less than 20 teams send me checks, the teams that
told me that they were coming first will be accepted.

If your team wants to come, or if you have any
questions, email me at
cbay@.... Send checks to Chris Bay, 630 Chautauqua
Apt. 2, Norman
OK 73069.

Sorry if you received multiple emails from me, I just
copied and pasted from all the emails I've received in
the past.

Here is an Ofoto album with around 115 pictures from Saturday's "Brews and Bruises" tournament at OSU in Stillwater, OK.  Many of them are of my team (the Mummies) .. and the teams we played .. but I tried to take a few other pictures just walking around the fields.  I started off with somewhere around 400 pictures, after making 4 or 5 passes through them, deleting duplicates and blurred images as well as cropping images.. I think we have a few decent pictures.  Let me know what you think!

For those that haven't used Ofoto before, it's real easy to use.  You will need to create a login, but it is FREE and EASY .. and they DO NOT spam you.  You can order prints directly from their site .. they have a sizing tool that tells you how large you can print the image and still keep a good quality.  I have one picture in my house that I took on my camera and had Ofoto print in a 30"x40" .. and it is crystal clear.

Anyway - here is the link:
http://www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=1714gjov.3ip9i33j&x=1&y=fy4ufh

Also - best wishes to Jennifer Bell.  She tore her ACL during the games on Saturday and will be having surgery in about 4 weeks time (the doctors told her this morning that she needed to wait 4 weeks to let the swelling go down to minimize scar tissue from the surgery).  She is going to miss Winter League and some play early next season .. but she promises to be cheering us on!  Get well soon Jen!!  She promises she will party like a Rock Star this Saturday night at JT's !!

Thanks also to the OSU group for putting together such a fun tournament!  We look forward to seeing many of you down here in Dallas/Denton for Jingle Bell Hell the first weekend of December!

If anyone wants soft copies of these pictures, I'll turn on my ftp server tomorrow .. drop me a note and I'll set you up an account so you can ftp them from me directly.

Ultimate!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages,

It's that time again!  Denton Ultimate will be hosting the new and improved Jingle Bell Hell, 2004 edition.  We have made changes and additions that will keep you rockin' into the New Year!  Here are the basic details:

WHO:

There will be three divisions this year.  We will have a College Open and College Women's division and, back by popular demand, the Co-ed division.  For the colleges, this will be a final tune-up before the spring semester.  And for all you crazy co-ed kids, it's on as usual.

WHEN:

December 4-5 2004

WHERE:

Denton, TX. We’re not as metropolitan as the Big D, but we're way more fun.

$HOW MUCH$

$ 150.00 per team

WHY:

Well, we'll do any thing for a party, and those of you that have been before you know we can throw down.  And besides, what better way to kick off the Christmas season than with Good friends, Good fun and a whole lot of ultimate!!

ALSO:

This is a charity tournament, benefiting Santa's Helpers.  So if for nothing else, do it for the kids.

OK, More details to come.  Check out the UPA tournament page for more info and links.  The web site will be and running soon.

Disclaimer:  Sorry for the mass e-mail and any and all duplications.  It's just the way it goes. Remember, tell your friends, so I don't have to. :)

Hello friends and teammates of Ultimato,
This is your treasurer Zeus

With the new high-tech invention of rain there are a few set backs in
the world such as the cancellation of the Intramural games which
only effects us second handedly; that is we will not have lights for
practice tonight. And it is great to have a day off every now and
again, but we have a big tournament this weekend (in Norman you may
recall and bring money by Wednesday if at all possible).

So to prevent a major decline in ability and skill right before
the "Nasty" I called your officers and we more or less agreed
on
practice at ultimate 5:00 p.m. behind the Colvin. So what I'm
really
saying is practice is on and it is at ultimate 5 in the now usual
spot.

Hello, OSU Ultimate,

I have not opened my yahoo email account since I graduated,,,anyway,
I have some emails from Sports Council Treasurer dated in January and
February, talking about some meetings for fund allocation. These
emails were sent to all the presidents and treasurers and mail box at
recreation center (which the emails indicated). I am sure that your
president or current treasurer already took care of it, but I just
wanted to let you know about it. I know it's already April, but if
you would like to have those emails forwarded to you, please let me
know.

I am very sorry for this, if you guys have had any trouble.

In addition, please make sure to let Ms. Bonnie Kolb know that I
already graduated and got expelled from the U.S. to Mexico.

See you some day.

those far and away,

I asked the PIKE guys and they said the tournament is
open to anyone. The entry fee is 75 bucks a team and
the roster size max is 11. The games are played under
intramural rules with 7 on a side.

If you want one of us to sign up a team for you that
could probably be done. The deadline is 4/16 at noon,
but if we begged it could be possible to sneak a team
in late.

Christian Westhof here. Heard rumor of an Ultimate tournament hosted by one

non-college teams allowed to enter. Some friends and I are interested in
entering, and I am writing to know if that's possible. Any feeback would be

Hey All,

Just a reminder that Wichita is having its first ever tournament, and we
want you to be a part of it. The First Annual Cow Town Throwdown Hat Draw
Tournament will be held May 22-23 right here in Wichita, KS.

The cost is only $10, payable on arrival.

Just go to our website at: http://www.geocities.com/wsu_ultimate/Main.html,
fill out the registration form and email it back to us. It's that simple.

Don't forget that this tourney is open to everyone, men and women. There is
no set coed format, as it will depend on how many women attend.

We will be having a party Saturday night at the River City Brewery featuring
live music, good food, and the Brewery's own tasty microbrews.

More information is available at our website.
http://www.geocities.com/wsu_ultimate/Main.html

Thanks, and we hope to see you there!

Brad Lauritsen - Wichita State Wu Shux

P.S. If there is only one reason to come to this tournament, it should be to
see our mascot, the frisbee catching cow! Okay, it is not a real cow, but a
small hand crafted sculpture of a cow catching a frisbee, but it is still
pretty cool...

Hey gang

I noticed that the Pikes are hosting an ulti tourney in a few weeks
(24th & 25th), I think we should field as many teams as we can, esp.
co-ed since we have some women that are really good. Anyone have more
information like team size and if they will have co-ed teams? That
wasn't one the fliers.

Subject: Ultimate Injuries Project

I am conducting a research project on ultimate frisbee injuries.

I would like to track playing time and any injuries that occur during a season. I am breaking up the season into 3 sections and you may sign up for 1, 2, or all 3 periods.

Group 1: March 29-May 30 (9 weeks)

Group 2: May 31-August 29 (13 weeks)

Group 3: August 30-October 31(9 weeks)

The results of this study will hopefully make ultimate a safer sport.

If you would like to participate in this study, please go to www.sportsdc.net/ultimate

Also, please forward this to any groups or people you know that play ultimate.
