Wanted: WWII era battle bicycles manufactured by either BSA or Columbia. These folding battle bikes hit the beaches on D-Day and DZ's behind enemy lines. Most of them were abandoned by the troops who later regretted it, as they marched to the Bulge killing fields, half-asleep on their feet.
Are there any in the Tulsa metro or Oklahoma state?
I have an ancient (circa 1975) British road frame, a Pennine
'Re Della Corsa' that was my first good bike. It's Reynolds
531 throughout with a Campy Record bottom bracket and a Campy
Super Record headset. This frame measures 60 cm C-t-C on the
seat tube and 58 cm C-t-C on the top tube. The rear dropouts
are spaced at 120mm. The fork is from a Raleigh Pro as it was
much stiffer than the original. This bike has been resprayed
in black Imron with replacement decals from the manufacturer.
It has full braze-ons, but only one set of water bottle
bosses.
Unfortunately, it's just a little too large for me, and at my
age, I value my comfort.
$100...or trade for an equally ancient 58cm frame with 120mm
spacing.

I was wondering if anyone had a spare 9 speed cassette which was in
not so bad a shape and is willing to donate or part with for a small
price. I want to build a rear wheel to use on my trainer so I won't
have to remove the tire on my riding wheel. I don't want to buy a new
one since I will only be using it for trainning indoors and I can't
see myself spending the money on a new one. If anyone has one I would
really appreciate it. Thanks a million guys and gals. I am in OKC and
will meet anyone who will take this offer at the local trails.

KIA Motors began in 1944 as a producer of bicycles and steel
tubing. They no longer make bicycles but are now known as an auto
and heavy equipment manufacturer. This 55cm 10 speed road bike has
a steel frame and 27" wheels. It was built in 1980 which as far as
I can tell was one of the last years KIA made bicycles. A neat bike
if you collect out of the ordinary bikes or if you just like the
ride of a nice steel frame.
This well cared for hybrid is a 23" frame and will fit a big guy 6
feet tall to around 6 foot 5 inches tall. It is a 2002 model with
the sharp looking deep red and black paint scheme. It has never
been ridden off-road and has been upgraded to ride faster than most
hybrids. The crankset has been changed to 52/42/30 and the
freewheel has 11-34, 7 speed gears. The bike comes with a set of
profile design "Jammer" aerobars for when you want to get
aerodynamic and change from that comfortable upright sitting
position to slice into a strong headwind. Asking for $190 cash.

You mean bent as in the results of something bad or bent as in they
shape they were made? I have a Scott (don't know what they called it) bar
that curves back at each end sort of like it was made with longer, curved
bar ends. I also have a pair or like new brake levers for cants that came
off my folder when I upgraded? it to V brakes.
How about $25 or something of about equal value? Hey, I'm easy!

I have a rare Schwinn Child Seat circa 1950s. Good shape with
original paint (faded) and all parts including seat cushions. Mounts above
rear wheel using rear axle nuts and seat post clamp bolt. Great collectors
item or show piece but I wouldn't want to put a child in it (unless they
understood "Hang on tight!) Price, $25 and I can send a .jpg.

Like new Girvin Flexstem, 25.4 stem size and 25.4 handlebar clamp
size. 100mm extension. Used about 40 miles and it worked great but the
handlebars were too low for me with it. List price was $59.95, take $25 for
it. Located in Moore, OK, 405-799-1688.

I once again find myself with more frames than room to store them. I have only listed the frames below. If you are interested and want details or pics on them please ask.
I posted this one time before at $425, but have lowered the price to $375. I would prefer not to ship the complete bike, so if don't find an Oklahoma buyer at this price I will sell the components and frame/fork separately.
Thanks,
Frank in McAlester

This is a beautiful classic complete road bike ready to ride...it even includes pedals. This is a Davidson Challenge bike built in the mid 1980's...and it has less than 100 miles on it!
I took it out around the neighborhood when I first received it and it brought back memories of my first "real" road bike. I bought it knowing it might be too small for me, but it looked so nice I couldn't resist. Alas, it is indeed too small but I know it will be just right for someone.
If you have never heard of Davidson bikes, here is a link. He has been building beautiful bikes for 30 years:
I sent an e-mail asking about this bike and received the following reply:
We made the Challenge from 1983 through about 1992. It is Tange Champion tubing which is like Reynolds 531. It has Takahashi investment-cast lugs, crown, and bottom bracket, and it should have Campagnolo dropouts. Made in our shop and painted here too with DuPont Imron.
The frame measures 54cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube, with a 54cm top tube. It is a beautiful metallic blue with yellow decals and cable housing.
This bike comes with a Shimano 600 component set (crankset, brakeset, derailleurs, brake levers, hubs, headset) that is beautiful. The brakes are pantographed with the Shimano 600 logo and the front brake levers have the cut-outs that made them so cool looking! It has downtube shifters, and all of the components are in excellent condition.
The pedals are Shimano 105 pre-clipless pedals. The stem and handlebars are Cinelli and the saddle is a Turbo. The wheels are 36 spoke Ambrosio 19 Super Elite. The bike has two sets of water bottle bosses and takes a clamp-on front derailleur.
The only marks of significance I could find were scratches down the right rear seat stay where the bike had been scraped while in storage and a faint thin scratch on the right fork leg. These could easily be touched up with a small bottle of touch up paint available at automotive shops.
This would be a great bike for someone wanting a classic bike that is ready to ride and time period correct circa 1985. I would rather not ship this complete bike and would work with a buyer to meet somewhere.
I am asking $375 for this complete ready-to-ride bike...it is in truly fantastic condition.
I'm 6'3" tall and looking for a good deal on a quality road bike
with a 62cm frame or one around that size. Prefer Ultegra
components or better. The frame should be in good condition but I
can replace components if necessary.

Davidson frame and fork w/Campy headset
According to information provided by the Seattle, Washington bike
shop that handles the Davidson line, this is a pre-1987 Davidson
Impulse. It is built with Tange Prestige tubing and Takahashi
investment cast lugs, and a frame like this today would cost $1650
without the headset.
This Davidson measures 56cm from the center of the bottom bracket to
the top of the top tube, 54.5cm center to center, and has a 55cm top
tube.
The color is a gold metallic with silver decals that was redone by
Davidson Bicycles about two years ago when the bike was restored to
like-new condition. There are a very few chips (mainly on the rear
dropouts and seat binder clamp) and the bike is in excellent
condition.
Has pantographing on the seat stays, two sets of water bottle bosses,
pump peg, braze on front derailleur tab and down tube shifter bosses,
Campy dropouts, 68mm (English) bottom bracket shell, 130mm rear
spacing, and the rear brake cable is routed at 12 o'clock on the top
of the top tube.
Includes a very nice condition Campy Chorus headset.
Pictures available on request.
$375 shipped, which includes professional packing (all tubes covered
with pipe insulation, dropout protection, bike box) and insured UPS
Ground shipping within the lower 48 states.

Raleigh Reynolds 531C frame, fork and headset
This Raleigh frame and fork was built by Raleigh in Nottingham,
England. It is a beautiful competition racing red with white decals
and black stays and fork and has a very nice metal Raleigh head tube
badge. It is built with Reynolds 531 Competition tubing and nice lugs.
The bike has never been ridden, only built up. The paint and decals
are in excellent condition, with only a very few barely noticeable
and already touched up chips. There are no rust, dents, or dings.
This frameset measures 53cm from the center of the bottom bracket to
the center of the top tube, or 54cm from the center of the bottom
bracket to the top of the top tube, with a 54cm top tube. The rear
dropout spacing is 130mm and there are horizontal dropouts.
The rear brake cable is routed at 7 o'clock on the top tube, has two
sets of water bottle bosses, downtube shifter bosses, takes a clamp
on front derailleur, has a pump peg, and takes a 68mm (English)
bottom bracket.
Includes an installed Toro Odyssey Pro headset.
Pictures available on request.
$330 shipped, which includes professional packing (all tubes covered
with pipe insulation, dropout protection, bike box) and insured UPS
Ground shipping within the lower 48 states.

Diamant Columbus TSX frame and fork
This beautiful frameset came into the US from Renaissance Cycles in
the Netherlands. They have access to some wonderful European bike
inventory that is rarely found in the US, and this is an excellent
example of what they have to offer.
This import is a Diamant road frame and fork. The frameset is
constructed of high-end Columbus TSX tubing. It measures 54cm center
to center with a 55cm top tube. The paint scheme is blue with yellow
and silver accents...a very striking combination. The chain stays are
chromed, as is the fork. There is pantographing with the "Diamant"
name at the top of the seat stays and on the left chain stay.
The bottom bracket shell is a very nice Cinelli housing. Braze-ons
include the front derailleur tab, down tube shifter bosses, and two
sets of water bottle bosses. The rear brake cable is nicely contained
with internal routing through the top tube.
The 1" threaded fork is chromed Columbus tubing, and has never been
used or cut. It has a 205mm steerer with 60mm of that threaded.
This bike was imported into the US by the original owner, built up and
ridden approximately 50 miles, then taken down and sold to me. It is
in excellent condition, with only a couple of very faint, very small
scratches keeping it from being pristine.
Pictures available on request.
$285 shipped, which includes professional packing (all tubes covered
with pipe insulation, dropout protection, bike box) and insured UPS
Ground shipping within the lower 48 states.
For Sale:
Belleri (French diameter) handlebars, 40cm. Good condition. $5
in the Tulsa area. If you're unfamiliar with French stuff, these
are slightly smaller than Italian diameter bars, but they'll fit
an Italian stem if you use a shim made from a beer can. Vintage
mid-70s.
Cinelli Model 65(?) handlebars, 40 cm. Good condition. These
are aluminum track bars (the curve begins almost at the stem)
with a shallow drop. Vintage mid-70s. $15.
TTT adjustable stem, Italian diameter. Good condition. Vintage
late 60s to early 70s. Suitable for a period restoration, or as
I used them, for recovery after an injury. These were made
illegal for installation on new bicycles by the CPSC. The
adjustable portion projects rearward, making for an impalement
hazard. Like I said, this is best for a restoration or for
dialing in proper fit, but I wouldn't use it on an everyday bike.
$20.
Wanted:
Sturmey-Archer 28" steel rims - Raleigh pattern - for a Raleigh
Tourist DL-1. These are actually a 28" rim designed for stirrup
brakes, not caliper brakes. They've been out of production for
nearly 25 years. (Yeah, I know, dream on!)
Steel track handlebars - deep drop.
Chainring 42T with a 130mm BCD for a winter beater. Old, worn
Sugino or similar (i.e. CHEAP!) is OK.

If there's any interest, I'll put some chapters from the
Sutherland's manual in the group files area. They're from an
older edition of the manual, but they're still very useful. It's
not complete, though, as several chapters are missing.
