FS: 57cm never ridden Torelli frame and fork   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #370 of 426 |
This is a partially built up, but never ridden, frameset that I bought to build
up for myself. It was sold to me as a 56cm, the largest frame I can ride.
Unfortunately, it is a 57cm so I am selling it and building up a smaller frame.

This frame, according to an e-mail from the owner of Torelli Imports Bill
McGann, is a 1999 Torelli Countach hand-made in Italy by Antonio Mondonico. If
you are not familiar with this legendary builder, who recently retired, look
here:

http://www.torelli.com/mondonico/mndnico.html

The frame measures 57cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of
the top tube with a 57cm top tube. This lugged frame is made from light but
strong cycling-specific Columbus Nivacrom Zona ASB (Asymmetric Double Butted)
steel tubing made to Torelli's exacting specifications. The frame is painted
metallic inkwell blue with yellow decals. The 1" threaded fork is painted to
match the frame and has a sloping fork crown.

This frame has two sets of water bottle bosses, braze-on front derailleur tab,
rear brake cable routed at 7 o'clock on the top tube, pump peg, chain hanger,
and the cable adjusters are brazed on the head tube. The bottom bracket is
Italian threaded, and a Campagnolo bottom bracket spun in by hand. The rear
dropouts are horizontal adjustable (adjusting screws included) and measure 130mm
wide. The 1" head tube measures 150mm and the 1" threaded fork steerer measures
192mm.

This frame and fork were partially built up but never ridden. This Torelli is in
excellent condition, with only a few shop wear scratches on it. The frame and
fork have been completely treated inside the tubes with Boeshield T-9 rust
prevention spray.

$395 for the frame and fork picked up in McAlester. Pictures available in the
next day or two.

Thanks,

Frank in McAlester
