Re: FS: 55/56cm Pinarello frame and fork with Shimano Dura Ace headset

I posted the ad this morning and this afternoon was touching up the Pinarello
paint chips today and using semichrome on the chrome. I then went to wax and
shine up the frame. That was all going well until I got to the front part of the
top tube and felt something as I was buffing the frame with a washcloth. I
looked and saw a 5mm shallow angled ding on the top left side of the top tube
right above the E on the left side PINARELLO decals.

I had not noticed it when I looked at the frame quickly last night, or when I
took pics today, but I was looking at the right side of the frame and never
looked at the left side. In fact, I didn't notice it until I felt it and had to
hold the frame at an angle and look down the side of it to see it. There is no
paint broken and looks like it might have had a tool dropped on it or something.
I tried to take pics of it, but can't get it to show up.

I have reduced the price to $350 picked up in McAlester. Lots of pictures
available.

This was a one-owner frameset before I bought it. This frame is a Pinarello
Stelvio, hand-built in the Pinarello frame factory in Treviso, Italy. The frame
measures 55.5cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top
tube with a 55.5cm top tube.

This lugged frame is made from Dedacciai Dolmen steel tubing custom made to
Pinarello's exacting specifications. The frame is painted metallic black with
silver decals and chromed right chain stay. The entire bike looks as if it may
be completely chromed underneath the paint. The threaded fork is painted to
match the frame, with a pantographed chromed fork crown. Pinarello pantographing
is also found on the bottom head tube lug, seat tube lug, bottom of bottom
bracket shell, brake bridge, and fork crown.

This frame has two sets of water bottle bosses, braze-on front derailleur tab,
rear brake cable routed internally inside the top tube, pump peg, and metal
headtube badge. The rear dropouts are adjustable (adjusting screws not included)
and measure 128mm wide and the head tube measures 142mm.

This bike was well cared for and maintained, but it does have paint chips
(most touched up) that would be expected of a frame of this vintage that has
been ridden and shipped. It also has some chips to the decals that identifies it
as a genuine Pinarello ;-) The chromed right chainstay has some peppering on the
top of it, likely from a dropped chain. The outside of the chromed fork crown
shines very nicely. The underside of the fork crown has some corrosion, but this
is something I often find on used bikes with chromed forks.

The included Shimano Dura Ace headset looks to have a split in the crown race,
noticeable to me only because of how bright the chrome of the fork crown is and
how it reflected the bottom of the headset in the mirror-like finish! The frame
and fork have been completely treated inside the tubes with Weigle Frame Saver
rust prevention spray.

$395 picked up in McAlester. Pictures available hopefully tomorrow evening if
it doesn't rain...again!

Have a safe and happy 4th!

Frank in McAlester
