FS: 55/57cm Serotta Legend frame, fork, headset: $375   Message List

If this Serotta had a shorter top tube, I would build it up for myself and make
it the stable mate of my Schwinn Waterford-built Paramount.it is that nice. This
is a custom-made steel Serotta Colorado Legend CRL that is fully lugged and
absolutely beautiful! This was the high-end frameset (believe it to be a 1993
model and the serial number looks to be 0055 347) available from Serotta before
the CRL became the CSi.

This Serotta has a competition red metallic with fluorescent yellow custom paint
scheme and matching red steel fork with a nice fork crown and Shimano dropouts.
The decals are black outlined in gold, other then the Colorado Legend CRL script
on the top tube which is gold only. The colors are very hard to accurately
photograph as the red is more brilliant than the pictures and the yellow
definitely fluorescent, but this bike is stunning in person!

The frame measures 55cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of
the top tube, with a 57cm top tube. The head tube measures 133mm and the steerer
on the 1" threaded steel fork measures 172mm. The rear dropouts measure 130mm
and the frame takes an English bottom bracket.

The frame has the signature fastback seat stay, fancy lugs with a high point on
the seat tube lug, Colorado Concept steel tubing, and the Serotta "S" engraved
in the bottom bracket lug and fork crown (with "Colorado" also on the other side
of the fork crown). This was a custom Serotta with an added touch of having
GREGRODZ engraved into the brake bridge.

The rear brake cable housing is routed inside the side of the top tube. There
are two sets of water bottle bosses, a pump and chain peg, vertical rear
dropouts with micro adjusting screws, and a braze-on front derailleur tab.

There are some paint chips on this frameset and decals, with the most noticeable
being on the front of the drive side chain stay that should be covered up by a
crank set, but overall this bike is in excellent condition and shows very
nicely. Includes a Campagnolo headset, although I can't vouch for its condition
as it is not installed.

$395 picked up in McAlester or $425 professionally packed, shipped, and insured.
Many pics available for the asking.

Thanks,

Frank
