Just bought a new road bike and as much as I hate to get rid of this
one, I need room in the stable.
24" (60cm)British Falcon frame in very good condition (one ding in
top tube, paint scratches and chipping in some areas). Deep candy
red (very pretty). Reynolds 531 steel tubing with sport
geometry...very comfy on rough roads and long rides!
Outfitted with polished Ultegra 6400 drivetrain (circa 1997-ish),
less than 800 miles because the mountain bike stole my heart.
Ultegra 8spd freehub and nashbar front hub. Carmichael sealed alloy
derailleur pulleys. 2 cassettes included (12-26 SRAM brand new, 13-
23 Ultegra w/little wear). 172.5mm cranks with 39/53 rings (can also
include a 42T inner ring). Downtube Ultegra index shifters. Aero
levers with Profile standard drop bars and 3T quill stem. Control
Tech seatpost with Terry Fly titanium saddle.
Finding narrow high-performance tires in 27" is getting to be a
chore, but there are multitudes of great quality 1-1/8" or 1-1/4"
available. The biggest drawback is the sidepull QR Diacompe 500
brakes (not cheapies like the Weinmanns, but not up to par with
today's brakes). They are an extra long reach (61mm). Tektro is
releasing a model R556 dual-pivot brake soon that would be candy on
this bike and should be available shortly.
I loved this bike....sleek, sexy, and steel. If it can make someone
else happy, I need the room. Call or email if interested and make me
an offer. 405-301-0628
