This Giordana XL-Strada is a really nice road frameset made by the Bilato frame
building shop. Bilato is a contract master frame builder in Italy who made many
frames that carried other famous labels, such as Ciocc, LeMond, Masi, Cinelli
Super Corsa, Concorde, and others.
The frame measures 54cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of
the top tube with a 54.8cm top tube.
The seat tube angle is 73.2, and the head tube angle 73.3, degrees. The
horizontal rear dropouts are 128mm wide.
The bike is a cherry red metallic and frost white two-tone paint scheme...very
pretty! This frame was built with very unique French Excell steel tubing, a
high-end tubing which was available in very limited production and only used on
top- end bikes. The frame is fully lugged with a 1" threaded steel fork that has
a nice flat fork crown.
There are two sets of water bottle bosses, rear brake cable housing is routed
inside the top tube, frame has a braze-on front derailleur tab and braze-on
downtube shifter bosses and pump peg and chain hanger.
The frame and fork are in very good condition with no dents or rust. There are
some paint scratches, most of which have been touched up, on this lightly ridden
and well-cared for used bike. The frame tubes are very clean and have all been
treated with Boeshield T9 rust prevention spray.
Also included is a Shimano square taper bottom bracket that could pass for
almost new and a Campagnolo Athena headset.
$275 for the frame, fork, headset, and bottom bracket. Pictures available soon
by request.
Thanks,
Frank in McAlester
