FS: Two new old stock Colnagos frame and forks: 56cm Master, 55cm C   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #247 of 426 |
My source for new old stock Colnago's came through with the last frames in this
size. This is one of those rare opportunities to own a legendary hand-made
classic Italian steel Colnago road frame that has never even been built up!
Colnago sets the tone by which all other steel frames are judged, and has a
distinguished racing pedigree. This is a rare find because it is new old stock,
never ridden or built up, and uses the world-renowned Colnago 1" threaded steel
fork.

These frames are beautiful! Even my neighbors who are not bike fans were taken
by how vibrant the colors and chrome are. I have lots of pics of these frames
free for the asking. All prices are picked up in McAlester.

Thanks,

Frank

56cm Colnago Master

This beautiful frame measures 56cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the
top of the top tube, or 54.5cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the
center of the top tube, with a 55cm top tube. The frame has a gorgeous purple,
green, and white fade paint scheme that reminds me of spumoni! This frame was
made in Italy of Gilco Designed multi-shape tubing designed especially for
Colnago by Columbus.

The frame has the Colnago ace of clubs pantographed into the top of the seat
stays and bottom bracket shell, bottom chromed head tube lug, and brake bridge
stay. The bottom bracket shell is a Colnago design (looks much like a Cinelli
bottom bracket shell) with the word COLNAGO engraved into the bottom of the
shell. The lower headtube lug also has COLNAGO engraved in it. The lugs on the
frame are fancy and ornate...very nice touch!

The chromed 1" threaded fork has the Colnago ace of clubs pantographed in the
top of the fork crown and the word "COLNAGO" pantographed in the side of the
fork crown. The head tube lugs, drive side chainstay, and rear dropouts are
chromed also.

The rear spacing is 130mm, head tube length is 131mm, and the fork steerer is 1"
threaded and 200mm tall (long enough for you to size it for your specific
headset and height preference). This frame has adjustable rear horizontal
Colnago dropouts (screws not included), braze-on front derailleur tab and down
tube shifter bosses, two sets of water bottle bosses, and the rear brake cable
is routed inside the top tube.

There are no dings or dents.this bike is in wonderful condition. A nine-speed
Shimano Ultegra wheel fits perfectly in the rear dropouts. There may be a few
very tiny marks from being in storage for 15 years or so but you would have to
look for them to find them. The chrome on the right chain stay, head tube lugs,
and fork is shiny and bright. The frame has been completely treated inside the
tubes with Boeshield T-9 rust prevention spray.

55cm SLX Spiral Conic

This beautiful frame, circa 1988, measures 55cm from the center of the bottom
bracket to the top of the top tube, or 53.5cm from the center of the bottom
bracket to the center of the top tube, with a 54cm top tube. The frame has a
striking hot pink to mint green fade paint scheme with a fish net effect at the
paint transitions. This frame was made in Italy of Columbus SLX Spiral Conic
steel tubing designed especially for Colnago. The down tube is custom tapered
for this Colnago Conic model. It is wider at the bottom for stiffness when
sprinting or climbing, much like the philosophy behind the Serotta Colorado
Concept tubing.

The frame has the Colnago ace of clubs pantographed into the top of the seat
stays and bottom bracket shell, bottom chromed head tube lug, and brake bridge
stay. The Colnago ace of clubs is cut out of the bottom of the bottom bracket
shell, and the word COLNAGO is engraved into the bottom of the shell.

The chromed 1" threaded fork has the Colnago ace of clubs pantographed in the
top of the fork crown and the word "COLNAGO" pantographed in the side of the
fork crown. The head tube lugs, drive side chainstay, and rear dropouts are
chromed also.

The rear spacing is 130mm, head tube length is 124mm, and the fork steerer is 1"
threaded and 200mm tall (long enough for you to size it for your specific
headset and height preference). This frame has adjustable rear horizontal
Campagnolo Campy dropouts (screws not included), braze-on front derailleur tab
and down tube shifter bosses, derailleur cable guides under the bottom bracket
shell, one set of water bottle bosses, and the rear brake cable is routed inside
the top tube.
