Colnago SLX Spiral Conic frame and fork



This is one of those rare opportunities to own a legendary hand-made Italian
steel Colnago road frame that has never even been built up! These Colnago SLX
Spiral Conics are longer being made, and Colnago has even recently announced
they will no longer be making any all-steel frames.



These Colnago SLX Spiral Conic's are difficult to find even in used condition.
This one is an even rarer find because it is new old stock, never ridden or even
built up. These are so rare I don't believe I will have another opportunity to
purchase any, especially in this popular size. With beautiful spring weather and
tax refunds just around the corner, it is time to get that special frame you
have always wanted.



This beautiful frame measures 56cm c-t on the seat tube with a 55cm top tube.
This Colnago Super frame has a hot pink to mint green fade paint scheme with a
threaded chromed fork, head tube lugs, and right chain stay. It is made in Italy
of Columbus made SLX Spiral Conic tubing steel especially for Colnago. The
specially made down tube is tapered specifically for this model Colnago. It is
wider at the bottom for stiffness, much like the Serotta Colorado tubing
concept. This Colnago has investment cast fork, dropouts and bottom bracket
shell and Campagnolo Campy rear dropouts.



The frame has the Colnago clover pantographed into the top of the seat stays,
top sides of the bottom bracket shell, bottom chromed head tube lug, and brake
bridge stay. The Colnago clover is cut out of the bottom of the bottom bracket
shell and the word COLNAGO is engraved into the bottom of the shell. The fork
has the word COLNAGO and the Colnago clover engraved in the top of the fork
crown and has Colnago engraved front dropouts. The chrome on the right chain
stay, head tube lugs, and fork is shiny and bright. The frame has been
completely treated inside the tubes with Boeshield T-9 rust prevention spray.

The rear spacing is 130mm, head tube length 132mm, and the fork steerer is
threaded and uncut (needs to be cut down when the frame is built-up). This frame
has adjustable rear horizontal Campagnolo dropouts (screws not included),
braze-on front derailleur tab and down tube shifter bosses, derailleur cable
guides under the bottom bracket shell, one set of water bottle bosses, rear
brake cable routed inside the top tube, and brazed-on down tube shifter bosses.



There are no dings or dents.this bike is in wonderful condition. There is a
very small paint blemish on the top of the top tube by the rear entry hole for
the rear brake cable housing (but a paint blemish is not rare with a
hand-painted Italian frame) but you have to look for it to see it. This frame
will turn heads wherever you go.it is stunningly beautiful! It also will provide
you with a wonderful ride that you can only experience on a Colnago. Once you
build this frame up and ride it, you will understand why Colnago has such a
fiercely loyal following.
