Rides / Gaited Endurance Team?

Looks like I've been coerced into going to Home on the Range since the
Millican Miles ride has been cancelled. ;-)

Since we're at the start of the season, I'm giving more serious thought to
forming a "mostly-gaited" PNER team. If folks really want to promote the
versatility of their gaited horses, it would be great if we can "pony up"
(so to speak) and pool our gaited horses together on one team to gain better
visibility on rides (as if my horse wasn't so "visible" to begin with!).
I'm saying "mostly gaited" because I don't necessarily want to exclude
someone who would otherwise be a good fit with our team (camaraderie,
values, "family friendly", etc), but I do think it will be important to have
some number to help quantify that - such as 75% of the team should consist
of gaited horses - so that it will help provide team membership structure
down the road. Also, a commitment to ride at least three rides a year would
be good ~ after all, it's hard to promote gaited horses if they're not out
there on trail. :-)

Additionally, we could have cool year-end awards for top mileage
rider/horse, plus fun awards for "most helpful", "best camp chef/grill
master", etc. Not to mention coordinating vests or shirts. ;-)

Any feedback would be great ~ let me know everyone's thoughts on this. Any
takers?
Feel free to call or email ~ the kids don't have school today so I won't be
"in and out" as much as usual. :-)
