Having problems with message search?
I was hoping to see some gaited endurance horses on this ride but on that front I was disappointed. The only ones there were my Pasoloosa and my sister's Fox Trotter. None the less we had fun.
In order to avoid the Godzilla syndrome we started five minutes behind the rest of the contestants and rode together. At about the 16 mile point my Pasoloosa put his foot down on a sharp rock and came up lame. My sister and her 19 year old Fox Trotter who's longest single day ride to date was 19 miles went on. They fox trotted on the level and the easy down hills and walked the rest. They came in just 20 minutes before the deadline but since he was the only gaited horse that finished it was good enough to win the $75 prize I offered.
My sister will be laughing for a very long time.
