Hi, there ~
Didn't get your name (but we know your hubby's name is Rod!).
We have one fiery Paso Fino and three Peruvian Pasos. Oh, and
one pot-bellied pinto shetland pony. Can't forget the pony!
I hope to be at most of the rides except Klickitat, which I have
to miss this year due to a pre-existing schedule conflict.
We live in Camas, WA but regularly travel down to Molalla to train
over at Hardy Creek. You'll have to let us know of any good trails
out your way. :-)
It sounds as if your hubby's TWH will do just fine. No special tack
is required, just whatever fits your horse well. Many who have the
Tucker saddles just love them, so you all should be set there. A breast
collar and crupper are good to have to keep the saddle from slipping on
hilly sections. I ride on an Ortho-Flex Patriot Officer's Model, and
thankfully it fits the horse as much as I love it. ;-) You'll find almost
every make of saddles, pads, stirrups, bridles, etc. at these rides, so if
you find something that interests you, ask the rider after the ride what
their experience has been like - it might save you a lot of money in the
long run.
Good to hear from you - let us know about those trails up there when
you get a chance.
