RE: [NorcalF200] Re: F200 Spark plugs

If you go to the Burris site under the tech section you can find some good info...    Here is info on the Spark Plugs from the Burris Tech info:

We have found that the NGK BPR6ES (or equivalent) is the best all around spark plug to use in the YF200. Lately we have been using the NGK BPR6EIX Iridium which gives a little better throttle response and lasts quite a bit longer. For sustained high RPM's you could go a step colder and try the BPR7ES or BPR7EIX. Remember, with the Yamaha, good plug color with low CHT's is the way to go.

Remember, Heat range is just another "tuning" adjustment and is related to many things including Fuel used, Type of racing like Sprint, Road Racing and Oval and weather.  Here is a good explanation for ALL types of racing engines:

FYI:  For the most part in our air cooled F200 engines, the Valves usually increase in valve lash as the engine heats up(Try checking the engine when its hot sometime to prove this) So the clearance GROWS.  We have been adjusting our lash at .004" on the intake and exhaust.

The owner's manual is available on the Burris site. Gives part
numbers, torques, etc. My cam card lists 0.004 intake and 0.006
exhaust cold. Ideally there is no lash when the engine is hot.

See ya bright and early tomorrow.
