Aqua Surf Shop and Wavefest present a triple bill SURF
MOVIE NITE,
Thursday, June 12th at the Balboa Theater. Headlining
the night is
"Drive
Thru Japan," the latest installment from Poor
Specimen¹s "Drive Thru"
series. Also showing are two locally made short films
by San
Francisco¹s
Silvin Morgan, and Santa Cruz¹s Steve Wasylko.

The traditional FREE raffle will feature plenty of
surf-related goodies

provided by video distributor Poor Specimen and Aqua
Surf Shop. The
two grand prizes (one per screening) include a blow-up
ULI surfboard
(as
seen in Drive Thru Japan) and an INT surfboard called
"The Black Ball
Beater". Additionally, clothing from Billabong and
Hurley will also be

DRIVE THRU JAPAN ­ 2003 ­ 35mins.
On the road again? Ride along with Rob Machado, Benji
Weatherly, Shawn
"Barney " Barron, and Donavon Frankenreiter in vans,
planes, and bullet
trains for a two-week adventure of pure comedy as they
search for waves
in
the land of the rising sun. From Donavon¹s blown
meniscus to blow up
boards, Rob getting mobbed, Barney getting dogged, and
Benji¹s pillow
talk
karaoke, these foreign ambassadors take it to the next
level. Scoring
insane waves with ripping locals and skating with pal
Kris Markovich,
the
epic surf saga of "The Drive Thru" continues in the

Steve Wasylko, a Santa Cruz based surf filmmaker, will
show clips from
his upcoming movie set for a Fall ¹03 release. The
movie covers surf
spots
up and down the coast of California, Maui, the North
Shore and other
locations undisclosed at this time. Surfers featured
in the movie are
Joel
Fitzgerald, Shawn "Barney" Barron, Josh Loya, Garrett
McNamara and
Chris
