BIG WAVE SPECTATING:
Should there be any big late winter swells come through, head to Princeville and check out the big wave spot, Kings, where you might find Titus and other big wave surfers doing some tow-surfing.
SURF SPOTS:
If you are a novice surfer or want mellow surf, stick to Hanalei Bowls, Hanalei Pier (inside of Bowls), and Pinetrees -- but be on the lookout for big sneaker sets with some power at Bowls (and anywhere else within Hanalei Bay) should a swell be building.
If you are more advanced and a solid shortboarder, you might want to go check out Waikokos, Middles and Chicken Wing. Chicken Wing is a fab left that has a 90-degree bend in it...a totaly fun, roller coaster-likewave. You start out riding a left parallel to the shore, and then it has a hard turn in it where you end up surfing directly head on towards shore. Here's a map on the web with the low-down on some spots: http://kauaisurfmap.com/id1.html
Enjoy!

Hi Ladies,
First time emailer, long time Nor-Cal Women's Surf Club fan!
A bunch of fellow Nor Cal surfer girls are renting a house in Hanalei
exclusively to surf, surf, surf the first week in April! (Here we come
warm water!)
Any recommendations on a surf shop that rents board (cheaply)? Also,
any favorite spots you like to hit up?
Any other hook-ups you can recommend? I haven't been in a few years,
so I'm a little rusty on hook-ups... Anyone with an awesome cousin
who can give free kayak lessons or something?!
Would love to hear the input from some soul surf sistas...
mahalo!
