Chicas,

Aloha,

Just a reminder to all that the Ride A Wave training is this Saturday, 04/12 at 2pm.  Contac them for sign up or go online....

Some info:

ALL volunteers are required to attend training this season, even if you’ve volunteered for several years.  Safety is our #1 concern.   The training days are Saturday, April 12 at  2:00 PM and Sunday, May 4 at 9:00 AM [Cowell’s Beach].  You only need to attend one of the training days.  Please be on time.

You’ll need to complete a Volunteer Information Sheet, found at http://www.rideawave.org/volsheet.htm.  You can mail it to PO Box 7606, Santa Cruz, 95061 or bring it to the beach filled out.

Please send an email below and let me know which day you will attend and which areas you want to train for.  We do not need any additional tandem surfers at this time, but we ALWAYS need Beach Buddies.  We need 30-35 people helping out on the beach for EVERY camp, in addition to our help in the water, so please stay for a short Beach Buddy training session, too.  If you’ve already registered, please check the attached Excel file.  Let me know if I don’t have the correct information for your training day and/or events.

Information on all of the Volunteer Duties is available at http://www.rideawave.org/vol.htm.  Go to the Volunteer Page and find the link to each area.  Please read all of the guidelines carefully before you attend the training day.  Your trainer can answer any questions you have about volunteering.

The training should take 45 minutes – 2 hours, depending on how many duties you want to learn.  Please bring water and snacks, and wear that sunscreen!   Bring your wetsuit for water training, but we’ll supply the boards.

We would like a dedicated group who will volunteer for several camps this summer.  Our tentative schedule is available at http://www.rideawave.org/sched.htm.
