San Clemente is a great spot, specifically San Onofre. I've heard
there's surf in Manhattan beach although I've never surfed there. Surf
Diva (surfing school) is down there somewhere too, but may be closer to
San Diego.

Lots of good spots up by Ventura and Santa Barbara. There's tons of
spots up and down the coast there, you'll have a great time!
