hey surf women:

come on out and surf Santa Cruz on SAT, April 5th!

** CONTEST: **
just a reminder that the West Coast Wahine series contest is at
Pleasure Point on Sat morning, April 5th.  it'll be a great contest to enter or
just come check out - with WOMEN ONLY on 1st peak!  if you're even thinking
about entering, you should!  just do it for fun if nothing else (like i am).
worst case, you get some good, clean waves during your heat w/only 6
women out instead of the usual crazy SCruz weekend crowds battling for the
peak. i've attached the entry form here for your entering convenience...(note,
heats will start at 7:30am)

** BBQ @ Monica's: **
we'll have a potluck lunch BBQ at Monica Lee's sweet surf pad at the
Hook for the afternoon of the contest.  this is open to anybody who wants to
come on by - contestant, contest watcher, friends, whatever.  but we do need
RSVP's PLEASE.  drop an email to me (anne_moellering@...) or
Monica (madonnica@...) if you plan on coming.  we'll be in touch with
what to bring, etc.

** FREE-SURF SESSION: **
we'll also do a club surf session (or 2) the day of the contest. 
probably at 38th or the Hook.  more details to come.  so, if you don't plan to
surf the contest...do plan to surf this session...it will be conveniently
timed around the BBQ.

The Wahine Series is a great women's contest for beginning
competitors and the experienced! Shortboard & longboard age group
divisions will be run.

Fab PRIZES include surf trophies, Point Conception bikinis/
boardshorts/ accessories, Watergirl T-shirts, BettyBelts beautiful
shell belts, and a whole lot more.

Heats typically start around 7:30am. Format (subject to change):
20 minute heats; best 2 waves out of 10 are counted.
