Malpais/Santa Teresa up on the Nicoya peninsula is great.  Franks Place is cheap – nice rooms, with a pool and breakfast included - $19 a night I think in high season.  Right next to the bars and the beach.  Pura Vida Surfshop is right there to rent boards or get some lessons or new friends too!

 Dear all:

 

I'm hopeful someone can help me out with recommendations for a place in Costa Rica for a reasonably priced week of surfing that I'd like to give my son as a college graduation present.  He's easy to please so a hut on the beach and a bicycle for transportation will do.  He's an intermediate surfer already so just some sun and a few lessons here and there to improve his skills would be great.

 

Anybody got any great recommendations?
