I've completed a draft of a paper on the "Little Corporation," the
two-year period from 1953 to 1955 that the PCL's San Francisco Seals
were run by Damon Miller and others as a public corporation, stock in
which was sold to fans. I ask two things of my colleagues in the
Lefty O'Doul chapter and/or NorCalSABR group:
1) Assuming many in the group have far more knowledge of the PCL and
its history than do I, I a would appreciate it if one or two of you
could read the paper critically, spotting misinformation, suggesting
avenues of further inquiry, etc. If this gets published in "The
National Pastime," "Outside the Lines," or anyplace else, I will of
course be generous with credit and SABR salutes.
2) I would love to interview any fans who remember that period in
the Seals history, or better still, any fans who themselves or whose
family owned stock in the club.
Thanks a lot for allowing me to post this!
