"The Awakening" Summary
Match #8
LUMBERJACK MATCH
Noah Lott vs. BAM
The match prior to the main event was important to both competitors.
The Lumberjack match between BAM and Noah Lott would indeed mark
their future for POG wrestling. The first half of 2005 was strong
for BAM as he won the POG Grand Championship in December, and
defended the title against Jimmy Shalwin (who some would call an
unstoppable force). It was his rivalry with Johnny Dynamo that
marked his demise, and a few days before the 3rd encounter between
the two, BAM was involved in a hit and run. Some say, BAM was a
changed man... but who isn't changed when they get hit by a car.
There is no joke behind this, whoever did this should be
incarcerated. To see a man step up to the plate and defend his title
even after such a brutal incident, just order "Mind Games 2005"
today.
Noah Lott had a bad year in 2005 as he split with his team of
$Dollar$ & Mick Veasy to pursue singles opportunities. Of course,
everyone thought Noah would have changed his attitude... and it
seemed that way until he defeated Jack Thriller in the Invitational
at "Moment of Truth." He got his opportunity again, but was not
fortunate enough to gain the win for the Grand Championship. He had
to climb the ladder again... and when he defeated BAM in this
Lumberjack match, it put him side by side with Rastakhan.
JT Zorin without a doubt seems to be favoring some wrestlers on the
POG roster. Noah Lott had been granted a vacation and will not be in
attendance for "Fight Night." But, Rastakhan must face three other
exceptional athletes to pursue a Grand Championship title shot
again... that just seems wrong.
BAM still has a good opportunity. He will be facing Jimmy Jacobs
at "Fight Night." Jacobs crowd reaction has surely soured which will
certainly make BAM the fan favorite for this match, but will BAM be
able to reclaim the energy he once had as POG Grand Champion? Or,
will Jimmy Jacobs make his way back up to reclaim that Grand prize?
