The life of NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr. has turned into a train wreck, and pals fear he's headed for an emotional breakdown. The 35-year-old driver is feuding with the owner of his racing team, he's burned through a string of girlfriends, and he's still haunted by the tragic death of his legendary father, sources say. Now the troubled bachelor may be turning to booze to cope, insiders say. "Dale Jr. seems almost in a death spiral," disclosed a close pal. "He's locked himself away from his closest friends, and he's upset all the time. Those closest to him are concerned about his mental health and well-being."

You both think you know more than anyone else.  I got news for you, you are not any smarter than anyone else.  You just plain rude and stupid yourself.  You both need to get married, you would make a perfect match. Speaking of Jr.......

Just heard Danica is in the final negotiations with DEJr
motorsports on a nationwide ride for 2 yrs.Jaime Little had
the best and most insightfull comment on the subject. She
said" Danica is the Dale Earnhardt Jr. of The IRL".Isn't
that really the truth since both suck at racing yet can make
millions for really doing nothing at all. Just my opinion     lol

Junior will win in Texas, because I will be cheering him on!  I heard on our local news last night that their will be over 170,000 people at TMS for the races.  They were interviewing the track owner, and he said that was how many tickets were sold.  I cannot wait to see them race.

Carl Edwards is a three-time winner at Texas. The only other repeat winner is Jeff Burton with two wins.   Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. have all won at Texas, as have Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman. That’s all six HMS (or HMS-powered) teams that have won in the big state. In fact, this is where Junior won his first Cup race.
Ten of 17 Texas races have been won from starting in the top five, and Matt Kenseth’s #17 won from the furthest back in the field after starting 31st.   Last year’s November race at Texas had its lowest attendance on record, and while it’s expected to be about the same this year, it will still have a showing of more fans than any other Chase race.
More than 88 million dollars has been awarded in purse money for the 17 races held at Texas. On Sunday the purse will exceed $7.3 million.   Though master promoter Eddie Gossage runs the place, the track is one of Bruton Smith's. Together they gained favor of season ticket holders when they mailed out thousands of new coolers for fans to bring to the track after NASCAR banned them at ISC-owned venues, post 9/11.
The fastest pole speed was set in 1996 by Brian Vickers with a speed of more than 196mph. He finished 27th.   ZZ Top will perform a pre-race concert this year at Texas. Lest anyone get the idea that Talladega has the most loyal infield fans, Eddie Gossage had this to say when he arrived at work Monday morning: “Drove into work this morning and there are thousands of people who pulled their campers into the parking lot over the weekend. As Bill Murray said, ‘What's this? A surprise party??!! For me??!! ’ After 30 years of doing this I still get pumped up!!!” That is fan loyalty, and that is a man blessed with a job he loves!
Only one sponsor (Office Depot) has been to victory lane more than once at Texas. This will be the fifth fall race at Texas, but the last sponsored by Dickies, the first (and only) sponsor of the November race.

I have a theory on why he is not winning anything...
Junslug's driving style is rough on an engine.  Hear me out........  Where line does he prefer to run?  All the way up against the wall.  That is good in the fact that you keep the engine wound up and you sustain power through the corners.  But, the engine never gets a "rest period".  That much sustained RPM is really hard on a powerplant.  Granted, the HMS engines have taken the abuse MUCH better than the DEI engines ever could, but no engine is bulletproof (or Juniorproof) .  The results..... ....Higher speed, more power, more torque at the higher RPM's, but it really shortens engine life.  He needs to learn to drive it down into the corners, but I don't think he has the ability !

Danica Patrick bad for Dale Earnhardt Jr.?

Given the absolutely terrible season Junior has had in 2009, the worst year of his nearly decade-long Cup career, is bringing Danica Patrick onboard really a smart move in the whole big scheme of things? Shouldn't Dale Earnhardt Jr, be concentrating and be solely focused on resurrecting his career and vastly improving his performance in 2010? I don't know about you, but while bringing Patrick into the company may be a great business decision, it's going to also become something Junior doesn't need if he's going to try and dig himself out of the huge hole he's fall into: a huge distraction.

Al I don't want you to agree with me either.  I accept your opinions as well.  Everyone has the right to one!  I have always liked Tony too, and have took up for him in a lot of groups, but I am like you, she makes me want to root against him too.  I always want someone else to win but Tony.  Sad it has to get down this far!  Junior is my favorite, then it was Tony.  I like Matt, and Martin Truex Jr.  I like most of the drivers anyway.

While I don't necessarily agree with all your opinions Nell, I respect the right you have to be able to voice them. Unfortunately Smokie/Punkin/ Smokem (all the same person) doesn't agree with anything you say, since you are not a Tony worshipper. Because, I heard him and Earnhardt compliment the boo's that they always received as a result of winning races. They both said they love it. When you get boo's, you are the attention of the field. the attention usually lands with those who win races. I will give you a big fat pass on your ignorance. Again, they both stated that the boo's kept them going and they thrived on it. Had you been watching NASCAR for more than five minutes, you would know this Nell.

Now how do you know how Kyle feels?  Are you in his head, and do you know what he is thinking, I doubt it!  I think any boo's would bother a driver. I like Kyle, and I do feel sorry for him.

Don't feel sorry for Kyle. He enjoys those boo's. Just like Dale Earnhardt did. It proves just what those who are booing him cannot stand.

He was cheered big time when he crushed!  Kyle Busch got booed big time too.  I felt sorry for Kyle.  He is a great driver, and they should not boo the drivers.  I would hate to be on that track going nearly 200 miles an hour, and have to make a split second decision.  They deserve the money they make for risking their live's to race.  I did not realize how fast they did go.  I sure would not want to be in that mess!

ABC crew can’t hide enthusiasm for Johnson’s misfortune

By admin | November 8, 2009

By Richard Allen

One place you will probably never see the ABC/ESPN crew that covered Sunday’s Dickies 500 is at the final table of the World Series of Poker championship. In recent weeks they have had a bit of trouble hiding their emotions. In other words, they have not had their poker faces on.
When Jimmie Johnson spun and crashed early in the going at the Texas Motor Speedway it seemed pretty apparent by the tones of the voices of those describing the action that they were at least relieved if not excited that the outcome of the Sprint Cup championship would not be a foregone conclusion going into the last two races of the season.
I am not saying the television announcers were glad to see Johnson crash, but I am saying they were glad there was actually a championship contest coming out of Texas. If anyone doubts that, just go back and count the number of times they made reference to the misfortune of the #48 car during the remainder of Sunday‘s telecast.
Last week in Talladega, this same crew came under fire from NASCAR for telling the truth about the poor racing and the strange decision by the sanctioning body to impose a new policy on drivers about an hour before the drop of the green flag.
On more than one occasion this season, the announcers have made no mystery that they would like to see a caution displayed in the waning laps of the races they cover so that the field might be bunched for an exciting finish. And when that caution invariably would come out after their pleas were heeded by NASCAR the joy in their voices was quite often unmistakable.
Again, I’m not saying the ABC broadcast crew wanted Jimmie Johnson to crash. However, they are keenly aware that it is easier to promote a battle for the championship that goes down to the wire than to promote a driver’s leisurely cruise to a fourth consecutive title. And more, this piece was not written to necessarily criticize the broadcast crew. I like people who say what they think rather than what they think will be the least offensive. I appreciated the fact that they said what they thought in Talladega. Also, if I were involved in the broadcast business I would want a close championship battle as well.
But one thing to remember about Jerry Punch, Dale Jarrett, Andy Petree, Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty is to not look for them during ESPN’s telecast of the WSOP championship. They do not hide their emotions very well. The last few weeks prove that.

Well how do you know what Denny is thinking, how do you know he's a punk?  Are you inside his head Todd?  There is not way you can use that either.

Could be but he won the most races after his fathers death than he ever had before. Unless you are in his head, there is no way you can use that.

He does have him pegged wrong Al!  Dale Jr. is not worried about money.  I am like you, the death of his father has bothered him more than anyone realize's.

I think you have him pegged all wrong. While he may have a lot on his plate, I don't feel any of it is money driven. If it was, he could have millions of additional deals with companies wanting him to sell their products. I almost see him like Kyle Petty, and how he was compared to Richard, even though their personalities were totally different. I also feel his father's death affected him way more than most will ever realize.  Al

Yes, that is my opinion. He has WAY too much on his plate so I think that it is more about money. Nothing bad about that. I love money just like the next guy but I would really love to win too.

What would be even funnier is if she won a race or two. I wish her well.

So am I.  I know a very successful female racer that men respected and really did not like to race against.  Her name is Shirley Muldowney.

If he did not have the desire to win, the would not be up front in racing now, but he is always up front with the other drivers.  Things just happen to Junior beyond his control.  Look what happened to Kyle, and Matt.  They were running good for awhile, and boom their luck just went as bad as Junior's!

What would be even funnier is if she won a race or two. I wish her well.

Only one sponsor (Office Depot) has been to victory lane more than once at Texas. This will be the fifth fall race at Texas, but the last sponsored by Dickies, the first (and only) sponsor of the November race.

I have never heard a bigger crock of shit in my life.  Really are you flipping kidding me?  Andy was right you did set back the women's movement 100 years and I truly hope this isn't the same load of crap you feed your grand daughters.  You probably also believe that a woman could never be president because she would get her "monthly gift" and blow up the world.  As far as not being bitchy and trying to be a good person... news flash sweetie all the attacks on Punkin/Smokie/Holy Smoke... whoever in the hell you swear are twins... that is being bitchy.
