Oh wait, you're in Urbana...so I would join the Bears Den and train
under Bear St. Pierre and Adam Evans. You would not be oligiated to
wrestle for any particular promotion.

I guess I get to answer. Last year NMW was forced to move out of the
Warehouse on South First St. because the facility closed for a number
of reasons. Right now shows are being held at the American Center
where they had ran shows prior to the move to the Warehouse.
Unfortunately they've still not acquired a new facility for running
training. At this point in time if you want to be trained as a
wrestler your options are NGW in Pekin, The Bears Den in Champaign,
Dynamo Wrestling Academy in St. Louis, Rebellion Wrestling Academy in
St. Louis, South Broadway in St. Louis or move to Eldon, MO to train
under Harley Race. There's of course a lot of places in the Chicago
area. You could also join Warrior Concepts and get MMA training.

About a year ago, I found out about NMW and became very interested. I
havn't had a chance to make it to a show yet, but I'm hopefull. I did
find out about the school and that it had been temporarilly closed. I
was wondering if the school has been re-opened and how to get
information about it. Thanks in advace for the help.

MWR Writing Competition 2008
Portion of proceeds to go to the Wounded Warrior Project to assist
America's wounded veterans.

Missouri Wrestling Revival (MWR) is pleased to announce a special
writing competition for the summer of 2008! The competition is open to
all pro wrestling fans in Missouri and bordering states. The theme is
"Improving the Midwest Pro Wrestling Scene".

We want to hear your open, honest, professional solutions to the
problems faced by professional wrestling promotions in the Midwest.
Whether you are a wrestling fan, promoter, wrestler, or otherwise
connected to the business, MWR knows you have ideas that can
revitalize wrestling in the area. If you have solutions to the
challenges that pro wrestling promotions face, then create a memorable
essay that offers these solutions in a professional and
thought-provoking way. Your goal should be to cause a strong positive
reaction from all readers, regardless of his or her wrestling
background. Entries will be 1000 words or less, and there is a small
entry fee of $10 USD.

Purpose

MWR has put together this writing competition as yet another way to
give back to the Midwest pro wrestling community. In the spirit of
giving back to worthy causes, a portion of the proceeds from this
writing contest will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

A Worthy Cause

One dollar from every entry fee will be donated to the Wounded Warrior
Project. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) was founded on the
principle that veterans are our nation's greatest citizens. The WWP
seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been
severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other
locations around the world. Many of the injuries are traumatic
amputations, gunshot wounds, burns and blast injuries that will retire
these brave warriors from military service.

For more information on WWP, please visit www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

Topic Guidance

Your entry should focus on "Improving the Midwest Pro Wrestling
Scene". The interpretation is up to you. Each entry will be judged by
originality, understanding of pro wrestling, feasibility of solutions
offered, overall writing ability, and how closely the essay fits the
theme.

How to Enter

To enter, submit your essay in the body of an e-mail (no attachments)
to inadvertent.nerd@.... The essay should be 1000 words or less,
and should be submitted by July 31st, 2008 for your chance to win.

• Include name, address, phone number, e-mail address, title of entry,
and method of payment at the top of your e-mail.

• This contest requires an entry fee of $10 USD. Send the entry fee of
$10 USD via Paypal or credit/debit card by going to this website.
There is a payment button there. You go to www.paypal.com and send the
entry fee to joshberg65@....

Please be sure to indicate the title of the entry you are paying for.

• No attachments accepted in e-mails.

• No audio or video entries.

• All entrants must be 18 years of age or older.

• Entrants may include a business name or website with his/her name
for promotional purposes. If the entry places, the business/website
will be mentioned.

Other Terms

Refunds will only be issued if the contest is cancelled due to lack of
entries. It is not the responsibility of MWR to match entries to
payments, so please be sure to make it clear as to which entry you are
paying for.

You will be notified by e-mail when payment is received.

You may enter as often as you wish, but each essay must be e-mailed
separately. You may combine payment for multiple entries, but please
indicate which entries are being paid for.

All fees are nonrefundable unless the 25 entry limit is not met. In
that case, all fees will be refunded and the contest will be cancelled.

All entries and fees must be received by July 31, 2008, so mail early
to ensure on time delivery.

Entries must be the original work of the entrant and not have been
previously published. No other compensation for entries will be given.

Entrants retain all future rights for entries. Proper credit will be
given.

Obscene, provocative, or otherwise objectionable content will not be
considered. Sole discretion is that of the contest administrator.

Winners will be announced by August 31, 2008.

No judges, MWR contributing writers, or their immediate family members
will be allowed to enter the contest.

Judging

Josh Ray, owner and editor of MWR, will judge the first round. In the
first round, all entries will be narrowed down to ten semifinalists.
After this round, a panel of four judges will narrow the field to
three finalists. These three finalists will be notified and their
entries will be published on the Missouri Wrestling Revival website.

The entries will then be awarded prize placement based on originality,
understanding of pro wrestling, feasibility of solutions offered,
overall writing ability, and how closely it fits the theme. For the
finals an added emphasis will be placed on reader reaction.

Once again, no judges, MWR contributing writers, or their immediate
family members will be allowed to enter the contest.

Winners and Prizes

Grand Prize - published on MWR website, $200 USD, a local wrestling
DVD and two free tickets to an indy wrestling event in his/her area
(show selected at MWR's discretion).

2nd Place – published on MWR website, a local wrestling DVD and $60 USD.

3rd Place – published on MWR website and $30 USD.

Winners will be notified by phone and e-mail.

Payment to winners will be made via method chosen by winner (check,
money order, or Paypal).

Tickets to indy wrestling event for the Grand Prize Winner will be
selected for a timeframe suitable for the winner.

Winners will be announced by August 31, 2008.

Spread the Word

This writing contest gives back to Midwest pro wrestling and America's
fallen veterans. Please spread the word and encourage your friends to
sign up!

Nose Bleed Seats comes to television...

The Nose Bleed Seats hosted by Chris Lee, which began in summer 2007
as a video webcast on Google now comes to Springfield Comcast Cable
on Access 4 on Thursdays at 5:30am, 1:30pm and 10:30pm starting May
15th. NBS is a weekly program that features interviews with various
people involved in the local professional wrestling scene in central
Illinois and is shot on location.

While the program has been edited down to fit the 30 minute timeslot,
you can view the full-length interviews and prior episodes on the NBS
page at http://myspace.com/thenosebleedseats or go to Google Video
and search on "Nose Bleed Seats".

The debut episode of NBS on Access 4 features Chris Lee's recent trip
to Granite City to tour former UFC Welterweight champion Matt Hughes'
new H.I.T. Squad or Hughes Intensive Training Mixed Martial Arts
facility with interviews with several folks involved with the gym and
MMA.

Those interested in appearing on the program can contact Chris Lee on
the NBS Myspace page, or the show's video editor and occassional
guest host Crimefighter at http://myspace.com/rap_sheet.

This week I sit down with Scotty Cash and Benz of New Midwest
Wrestling. The interview went from start to finish a full 90 minutes
so I decided to divide it in half and show the first half this week
and the second half next week. Yes I discovered later the wind
interfered in parts of the video, so I captioned a few comments. I had
the camera directed away from the wind but the wind changed direction
a bit. I'll come up with a solution the next time around.

Next week, there will be a Nose Bleeds Seats announcement...I will not
tell you what it is until Monday so no emails about it, though I do
have an announcement now, Chris Lee will be returning to the hosts
chair in two weeks! Until then, enjoy this episode!

Well with less than a week to go, gonna talk up the show a bit...

Sage Ramsey vs. Steven Bishop - these guys never liked each other, in
fact you could say their issues started from way back to the cult of
RON when they were fighting over the tag titles. Now it's fired up
again in Virden where Bishop wanted to stake his claim to be a title
contender and eliminate the competition...first by breaking the foot
of James Welden then challenging anyone to a ladder match...then
defeating Sage Ramsey. Bishop with his cronies will claim they ran
Hardcore KC and MS Madman out of NMW...getting rid of Sage Ramsey who
wants the belt from Spotlight sure as heck will get Bishop back in
the main event picture.

Toga Steve vs. Eric Ruffington - You think with a name like up and
comer that Ruffington would quit losing...but he hasn't quit
losing...in fact winning a first round match against the CI champ
seemed like an aborration, when he went down in a lightening fast
fast to Brett Gakiya, then got demolished by KC and Sage in Virden in
a laugher. It seems Ruffington only has The Dave left in his corner
after J-Mac destroyed Truk Thompson. Toga can only lose here if he
gets careless, or gets ripped off.

Spotlight Spencer Powers vs. Brett Gakiya vs. CJ Esparza - For the
heavyweight title, the members of Zero G are each in themselves a
triple threat specialist. If there were a triple threat title in NMW
they would have held it by now. You'd think with a tag team wrestling
Spencer that he would be a huge underdog...but there's a problem.
Anyone who's watched any Brett vs. CJ match knows they have no qualms
fighting each other...and they have. They've had a similiar match
against a different fed's champ not too long ago, and the every man
for himself mentality spelled their defeat. Spencer's best hope if he
is to keep his belt that Zero G are made to fight each other...but if
they conduct this match in a we don't care who wins as long as it's
not Spencer...he's in big trouble.

As for the other matches in the lineup...we don't know and wished we
did!

At the Virden Picnic on the Square, NMW will be holding shows on Friday
and Saturday from 7-9pm. It will be outside, and you'll probably need
to bring your own chairs. Virden, IL is on route 4 just inside
Macoupin County 20 miles south of Springfield. Come one, come all.
