I am a rising Senior at Trinity College in Hartford, CT and am extremely
passionate about baseball. I recently purchased a SABR membership and hope to be
an active member.
I am very interested in issues pertaining to Asia, specifically China, and am
also a huge baseball enthusiast. I have recently began researching baseball in
China and am very interested in the cultural
and socio-political conditions surrounding the development of baseball in the
country.
I will be a Senior at Trinity College in Hartford, CT this fall and hope to
follow my passions of baseball and Asian affairs upon my college graduation in
May of 2008. It would be a dream to work for an
baseball organization, team, or federation, possibly with an international
scope. Do any of you have any suggestions or recommendations? Can I provide you
with a resume to help you further understand my background?
Recently, I was presented with the unique opportunity to apply for a Fulbright
Scholarship. If you are not familiar with the Fulbright Program, it allows
students to travel and research a topic of their
choosing. I am very interested in Chinese affairs; I have significant experience
with the region through previous internships and classes and have studied
Mandarin Chinese for six years. Also, I am extremely passionate about baseball
and played at Trinity during my Freshman and Sophomore years. Therefore, I would
be very interested in researching the emergence and development of baseball in
China as my project.
I would enjoy the opportunity to discuss this topic with this group further,
either through continued e-mails or via the phone. Do you have any contacts or
resources (books, articles, websites, etc.) which could help me assemble a
substantial project proposal?
Any help, feedback, or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
I hope to remain in touch. Please e-mail me at my main account,
