Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower - Dive June 4th 2005   Message List

Great conditions out at Frying Pan Light Tower last weekend.
Visibility was around 50 feet. Water temp is a nice 68F. Forget that
5mm and hood. A 3mm is just fine! There are 4 -5 resident Sand Tigers
around 7' that seem to have taken up residence as well as a few large
Amberjacks and Barracuda. Spearfishing is a not good idea at the tower
right now with this many sharkeys around. I saw an Amberjack get
speared and the sharks got a little fiesty right away.

Tried out a new charter service called Cape Fear Divers
(capefeardivers.com). Great boat with lots of room. I will be using
them again.
