RE: [NYDoubleCentury] When is this ride?

Hi Barbara,

Glad you are back on the bike!!
I am planning on doing it again myself (slow pace plenty fast for me) so
barring disaster there will be at least one other woman.

Nancy -- it's a great ride at either pace -- really pretty and through areas
you probably don't usually cycle. Join in.

Danielle

Dear Nancy,
The ride is sponsored by the Westchester Cycle Club. It is scheduled
for June 16th, and starts at 5 AM from Suny Purchase College parking lot #
2. There is a description of it on the e-group and at the club's web site.
You should have gotten the
description which Bruce Wells just recently posted if you are on the group.
Usually two general groups form, a faster group which rides 18-29 mph
average and a slower group which averages 15-16 mph. You need to be able to
average at least 15 mph to finish with
daylight. The ride is unsupported, but there are plenty of delis and rest
stops to replenish supplies. I am doing the ride for
the second time and am planning on riding the slower pace as I am still
recovering from an injury. The web site is www.westchestercycleclub.org
Would be great to have another woman on the ride......Ta Barbara

Hi, somehow I've managed to get on your email list for the double century
(?why?), and I am starting to get interested in it. When is it? How many
of
you are that do it? What kind of average pace?
Thanks,
Nancy Schutt

Correction 18-20 mph for the faster riders. I know many of them think they could go 29mph, but that WOULD be a record. Sorry about that...Barb ... From:...
