First, some very basic questions about your riding habits.

1. What is your general riding average speed in rolling terrain?

2. Have you ridden 17A from Warwick to Harriman Park?

3. Do you ride during the week as well as on weekends?

As for the WCC Double, I rode it for the first time last year; although,
I've riddent the Jersey Double a few times and the Longest Day Ride as well.
The WCC route is largely flat to rolling with a few long hills but very
little with double digit grades. Great group of riders that repeat it
annually and challenge themselves by attempting to imcrease the overall avg
each time. I'd highly recommend it as a first double century. I hope to
ride it again this year and the Jersey Double the following weekend.

Bruce Wells, who coordiantes the event, precedes it with 100 and 125 mi
rides the prior weekends. Also, there are "nearby" brevet rides you could
use to ramp up for the distance. Beyond that, it's important to learn your
own abilities and what nutritional items work for you well in advance.

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself to the group; I was referred to
this site by my TNT (Leukemia group) coach, as we're preparing for a
century in June and I told him I was interested in a longer ride.
Never done 200 in one day, though I have ridden many centuries. I'd
welcome any training advice and possibly joining anyone doing some
rides. I live in Orange County and would appreciate hearing from
anyone who's done this double century to tell me a little about it.
