Subject: sag wagon
HI Folks,
Well, just a short comment on the sag wagon. As is it will be piloted my
girl friend, it will be pretty close to me most of the time. I must say
that I was amazed by how busy I was driving the sag last year and had a
great time doing it. On another note, I'm a little pessimistic about
getting my speed up to the 18+ average that the group did last year. I did
a century at 16.2 on Monday and felt very good but that is a long way from
18. I have a lot of trouble starting out fast. My 55yr old body takes a
long time to warm up. I have knee and back pain that comes around when I
push hard and always takes a good 40 miles to shake out. I am averaging
17\18+, the last 50 miles but by then it's too late to get the overall
average up. I have one plan in mind to start out an hour or so ahead of the
group with a light. Mean while, I will continue to just try to get faster.
Thanks for everyone's in put. Bob "sag wagon" Bering
