Hi Tom.
Tom is president of USI, the country's second oldest cycling club.
>If we're going to have such a large group, do you think we need a sag
>wagon?
Barbara Kingsborough rode the double last year. Her boyfriend sagged.
She broke her leg XC skiing this year (don't ask me how, but she did), and
won't be in shape to ride this year. Her boyfriend Bob is going to ride
this year, and she will sag. At least that is the plan at the moment.
We have only had 2 or three times when we needed a sag. Most rides we
don't. It's nice to have one though.
>Is this going to a race between USI and WCC?
Absolutely not. We will work together as a team. Although people have
been known to sprint at the end. You don't know pain until you try
sprinting at the end of 200 miles. Many years ago we had a real bill goat
on the ride. A small but strong rider. On 128 just north of Armonk, on
the one little hill, he took off. We never caught him.
> I've already done
>one century this year, another great ride is the Montauk Century in May
>you can get a 145 miles if you leave from Yonkers with our group.
Tom, please post the details to this group. I am sure some may be
interested in it.
If anyone else knows of longer rides, please feel free to post.
