We now have over 25 people on this list, with more joining
every day.
I thought about doing personal bios last year, but never got
around to it. If you want, please post your personal cycling
information to the group. Just reply to this e-mail, and list
your personal cycling history, what your goals are for the
double, and how you found out about this group.
I'll start.
I started riding as an adult in 1984 in northern NJ. I moved
to Westchester in 1985 and started riding with the then
Country Cycle Club (now WCC). I started as a C rider, moved
up to B, and then A. My first double century was in 1989 on
this very ride, when it was lead by Bill Hoffman. I have only
missed it twice since then. Once for a broken spoke as we
were heading out through Mt Kisco (I decided it was not worth
the risk of more trouble), and once the ride was rained out.
Recently I have been riding weeknights during the summer with
USI, and this spring, and occasional Gimbles ride. I prefer
long fast and hard rides. I also like riding on new roads,
and sometimes on old favorites. The double century is always
my big ride and the most fun of the whole season. Always a
challenge and a pleasure to ride.
I obviously started this group! How did you find out about
it?
Add your story and we will get to know the group.
