Subject: [NYARA / Discussion] Jan 1 Event
Our friends at HVO are putting this on (I think):
Well it's time again to don our bestest, speediest up-hill shoes for
the second running of the prestigious Bear Mountain Gut Chuck.
We promised ourselves we would keep fitter this winter, but old
habits are hard to kick. Time to redeem yourself ! Dust off those
trail shoes, slap on some sun screen and brave the fidget winter
temperatures (if we're unlucky it could be a brisk 50, burr!). A
quick uphill of 2.3Km gaining 375 meters (1.4 miles in 1230ft) and
then the same back down. This will surely get your training and your
day off to a great start.
So on Jan 1st, 2007 in the parking lot next to the Ice Skating rink
come rain, hail or snow we will get the year off to a good
(intension) start.
Where is the start? Parking Lot at Bear Mountain Lodge (See link for
details)
When? Jan 1st, 11am Start.
Entry Fee? $6 per car entire to the main parking lot. Fill those cars
up.
Route and rules. Do your own research on route choice. Minimum
running on the roads, this is a hill run after all. See map for
details for "OUT OF BOUNDS" areas.
Why? It sounded good after a few pints.....
Stupendous prizes will be handed out to anybody that shows up.
