Menique: 5 yr old solid black mare, 14 hands. Sired by El Mejor DLM and out of Magic Fire Mako. Super smooth pleasure gait, very elegant, wonderful strong conformation, sweet people loving temperament, sensitive, will try her heart out for you. She has had quite a bit of trail work and loves it. Has been introduced to cattle and sheep. She is calm, level headed, intelligent, sure footed, confident and easy going. She will walk, gait or canter in any position in the group. She is a forward horse but is easy to transition between her gaits. She will begin showing this year so she can put that on her resume too. She currently will do best with a rider that is at least an intermediate rider due to her high level of sensitivity and for now she needs one rider in order to give her the consistency needed to become more finished. With some finish training she will be fine for just about anyone. Her sale includes additional training, lessons in the natural horsemanship methods that she is familiar with, and attendance to one of the clinics that I host in the spring or fall. $8,000

Lucky: 18 yr old, creamelo gelding. 15.2 hands. Experienced, solid trail horse. Has been extensively trail ridden in all sorts of terrain and field trialed. He has more hock and knee action than most and looks quite fancy in addition to being a smooth ride. He can and does go all day long when in shape. He'd do it even if he wasn't in shape. HE is a sweet horse and we'd like to get him placed with someone who will really love him and continue to enjoy the trails with him. His one "thing" is that he likes to be with a buddy when tied to a trailer, or in the pasture. He will fret if left alone. He can be ridden by himself however without a problem. He has many years left to share with the right person. He was our first paso fino and has traveled all over the country with us. He originally came from PA, then to us in VA as a 4 yr old. With his purchase comes Natural Horsemanship lessons and attendance in one of the clinics that I host in the Spring or Fall. $3000.00

Amigo: 6 yr old, 15.3 hand chestnut gelding. I would still classify this horse as green, however, he has had quite a bit of exposure to trial work and is being introduced to the field trial scene. He is very athletic and showing that he will be quite versatile. We nearly let our daughter use him for eventing/jumping. I think he could also do quite well in endurance. I look forward to seeing what he is like when he is really in shape. This will be his year. As he has matured and gotten in better shape, he is able to hold his gait for longer periods of time and it just keeps getting smoother. He really enjoys working in it. He is very intelligent, curious, has a tremendous amount of try in him, & he enjoys hanging out & playing with you. He really appreciates a good, kind, fair leader who will take the time to show him what is wanted and gives him the time to figure it out without getting hard with him. He will let you know when you are being unfair or unclear in your request. He was started using Parelli Natural Horsemanship. His sale includes natural horsemanship lessons and attendance to one of my Paso Fino clinics as well as a month of additional training/riding. $4500.00 (Price will go up once he is past the "green" stage.)

Nativo Palmera: is a handsome 6 yr old bay gelding. He is about 14.2 hands and is a real athlete. He has had quite a few trail rides, but at this point I classify him as green. He is going to be a fantastic partner for someone once he gets his confidence up and some more experience under his belt. He is one that needs to have things taken slowly and easily. If he gets pushed when he doesn't understand something, his emotions come up and he goes "right brained" and it takes awhile to get him back to where he can concentrate again. Now, he has nice gaits and he will walk and canter calmly. He just has confidence issues that will take an experienced person some time and patience to help him work thru. He cannot be "man-handled" or you will have problems. Parelli methods will be most effective in this case. I know his full brothers and sister and they were all very similar, but they also turned out fantastic thru slow patient work. This horse has too much potential for me to let him go to just anyone. I make sure we have good matches with all the horses I sell, but this is one in which I will be extra sure of the connection between horse and rider. He was started using Parelli Natural Horsemanship. His sale includes natural horsemanship lessons and attendance to one of my Paso Fino clinics as well as a month of additional training/riding. $3500.00 (Price will go up once he is past the "green" stage.)

Montegue or "Magoo": 19 yr old black gelding, 15.1 hands. This horse is a finished horse and has been shown and trail ridden extensively. Wonderful gaits! He will do just about anything for you. He does need an intermediate rider however, because he is quite forward and can get strong at times. This rider should have lots of confidence, patience and a kind soft hand. He is a big, solid, strong, sensitive horse. Bigger riders will feel right at home on him. We have been working him on walking and relaxing and being OK in whatever position he happens to be in when in a group. He has a strong desire to be in front, but he has made nice progress. People who knew him "before" and then see the "now" are complimentry of the changes he has made. He has wonderful manners and is easy to handle on the ground. We really enjoy him and feel quite safe and taken care of when on him. He has many years left to share with the right person. We bought him in 2004 for my husband to field trial with, but are selling him because my husband has had back surgery and will not be able to really do any field trialing for a bit and it's a shame for this great horse to sit around doing nothing. His sale includes natural horsemanship lessons and attendance to one of my Paso Fino clinics. $4000.00

Preciousa: 2 1/2 yr old elegant dark bay filly, about 14.2 hands now. She is by El Mejor DLM and out of Mia Chica de Paso Bonita. Very well bred with nice conformation. Will be started under saddle this spring and will receive a limited amount of riding this year. She turns 3 in May. She has a wonderful friendly out going temperament and really enjoys the company of people. Her sale includes natural horsemanship lessons and attendance to one of my Paso Fino clinics as well as a month of additional training/riding. $6,000

Estrellita: is 1 1/2 yrs old, turning 2 in August. She is a full sister to Preciousa and is another elegant filly. She has refined features with correct conformation, is a bay with a star on her forehead. I am going to guess that she will mature at about 14.2 hands. She has a nice soft energy about her and enjoys social time with people. Her sale inludes a support plan that will help you get her to the point where she is under saddle and has a good start. It includes a month of training during her 2 yr old year, another month during her 3 yr old year, natural horsemanship lessons, and attendance to a paso clinic. $4,000

High Desert Angelina: is 1 1/2 yrs old, turning 2 in July. She is by El Mejor DLM and out of Christina. Her color is a bit of a question mark at the moment. She is very dark, almost black right now with her winter coat, however, we think that she will be a sooty buckskin like her dad when she sheds out this spring. She was leaning towards that last summer. She has a thick luxurious mane. She will be a bigger mare, probably maturing to 14.3 or 15 hands. She is quite friendly and doesn't seem to get flustered by anything. She enjoys human company. She is a curious and confident young lady. Her sale inludes a support plan that will help you get her to the point where she is under saddle and has a good start. It includes a month of training during her 2 yr old year, another month during her 3 yr old year, natural horsemanship lessons, and attendance to a paso clinic. $4,000

Stallion Prospect, This un-named colt (looking for just the right name for this special colt) is 1 1/2 yrs old and turns 2 in August. He is a beautiful buckskin, with wonderful conformation and a quiet, easy to handle temperament. His features are refined, classy and elegant. His movement is exciting to watch. He is sired by El Mejor DLM and out of Tojo de Vision (Gypsy). Excellent bloodlines that go back to some of the best in the breed. If you are searching for a stud prospect that has the potential to sire some outstanding foals, consider adding this young man to your herd. His sale inludes a support plan that will help you get him to the point where he is under saddle and has a good start. It includes a month of training during his 2 yr old year, another 2 months during his 3 yr old year, natural horsemanship lessons, and attendance to a paso clinic. $10,000

High Desert Pistolera: this weanling filly will most likely be black or a sooty buckskin. Right now she looks black with some brown hairs in her ears. We also think that she will have some height to her, potentially reaching 15 hands. Her personality is confident, bold, curious and with an "I am queen of the world" type of attitude. She is sired by El Mejor DLM and out of Magic Fire Mako. If she is anything like her sister, Menique, she will be beautifully gaited with a tremendous presence and intelligence. She has a muscular compact build and refined features. She will be a dynamo, a power house. We are exxcited to see what develops into. Her sale inludes a support plan that will help you get her to the point where she is under saddle and has a good start. It includes a month of training during her 2 yr old year, another month during her 3 yr old year, natural horsemanship lessons, and attendance to a paso clinic. $3,000

2006 foals will be born in June, July and August this year to Magic, Mia Chica, Mocha and Gypsy, all sired by El Mejor DLM. So if you are interested in getting a paso fino right from the "get go", from breedings that have been proven to produce great pasos and come with a support and training package, consider one of these foals. You will take them home once they have been weaned at 6 months and pay no board on them while they are here. You are not responsible for any vet costs while the mare is pregnant or any vet costs on the foal untill the foal reaches it's 6 month birthday. IF you would like to leave them here longer, let's talk about special arrangements. Each foal is $3000.00 sight un-seen. If something happens to the foal in-utero or once born for up to 6 months, you have the option to shift your purchase to another foal or put it towrd the purchase of an older horse or toward a future foal. (Once a foal is born we may shift the price around if they have not already been sold in utero and reach an older age which allows us to determine "what we got".) But this allows you to get a foal without the expense of buying a mare, paying for breeding, vet costs and board, no risk and hassles of breeding and foaling out a mare. You just end up with your own foal when all is said and done.

Rent A Belly: Do you want a foal from one of my mares? Want to rent the mares belly for the next breeding? Let's talk about it. I am working out the details.
At Stud: El Mejor DLM: National and multiple champion in Performance, Pleasure, Bella Forma . Truley a versatile horse who is exciting to watch perform. He has sired over 50 offspring who are performing wonderfully in their own right. He sired the #5 gelding in the nation in 2005, Relampago. He has just missed being on the top ten sire list. If you have ever seen this horse he will leave a lasting impression with you that you will not soon forget. He is a stunning metalic sooty buckskin color. And he is in your back yard. You don't have to go back east to get the quality bloodlines that he has to offer. Great temperament, willingness, brio, perfect conformation, exceptional gait, color and size. His offspring are very easy to train and truely enjoy being around people. He is a gentleman with the ladies and we have had a 100% success rate for breedings the 4 seasons we have had him. His semen ships well and this year we get to do our first embryo transfer. His stud fee is $1500.00 and for that you are getting something that you know produces a quality foal. When you are investing more than a year and a half of your mares life and your money, time and worry into producing that foal, it is worth it to breed to one of the best stallions out there. Your mare is going to bring 60-80% to the final genetic picture of that foal, so be sure to cross her with an outstanding stallion that compliments her and can strengthen any of her weaknesses. It doesn't cost to invest in a quality breeding, it pays! I offer multiple mare & NWPFHA member discounts. I have also donated a breeding to the NWPFHA (which sold at the membership meeting in October in Pasco) as well as to the PFHA for their national stallion service auction. The advantage of the national auction is that your foal will be elidgeble to participate in the National show in the class specifically for offspring of stalllions who's breedings sold and you will be competing for a portion of up to $40,000 worth of prize money. And if you plan to sell the foal, this also becomes a selling point. Of course the other advantage of the auction is that you can get the breeding for up to half off the regular stud fee. Check it out on the www.pfha.org web site. See pictures of Mejor on the www.westernstatespasofinos.com web site as well. Thanks for considering El Mejor DLM for your breeding plans.
