Glad to have someone remind us about the upcoming elections. This
election could be important to the future of the PFHA, and I'd hate to
see us with internal problems like have occurred in other breed
groups, which cause break offs and trouble for the original
organization. As I understand it, the $100 (professional show fee) or
$15 (amateur fee) is a once a year fee, and will have no bearing on
trail riders. It is to help recoup some of the monies lost on the
Mudial last year. Unless you show at a pointed show (and the NW
Region has only one), the fee will not apply. Trail riders will not
be affected at all. I'm casting my vote for Larry Johnson, hoping to
bring a more cohesive working relationship back to the organization,
and Tony Coleman for VP. He's been the treasurer for years, and knows
the inside workings of the organization. Larry is also a trail riding
enthusiast and wants to promote the PF as a trail horse. FL and the
SE definitely have the market cornered for show horses, so it's up to
us in the West that ride for fun to put someone at the tope who will
hear us.
