Firstly - thanks for reading. Please read everything in this message. It shows you a way that you can help us get the GB squads to Vancouver without any cost to yourself.
When you register, simply choose your cause from the list (under "G"
you'll see various GB squads)
There are three ways that you can raise money for the GB squads: 1 - online shopping 2 - free trials 3 - easysearch
1 - Online Shopping
Whenever you are doing your online shopping, simply go to http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk first, log in, then search for a retailer from there. They have a deal with all the big names (Amazon, Play.com <http://play.com/>, HMV, Tesco, WHSmith, Comet, etc etc) and
whenever you buy something from any of those websites while using http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk as a portal, those same 'big name' companies donate money to our cause! It's really that simple.
It costs you exactly the same amount of money as it would to shop there normally. Each company donates a different amount; around 2-4% of the total purchase will be given to the GB teams.
2 - Free Trials
In addition, there is a link called 'Free Funds' [http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/raise_funds_for_free/] that allows you to raise money for us *without spending any money yourself*. For
instance, take out a free 2 week trial at LoveFilm and they donate £8! (you can cancel for free immediately without spending a penny, or simply enjoy the free dvd rental)
Now here's the kicker. Don't keep this to yourself. Email it to regional lists, club lists, friends, relatives, colleagues and more. The more people using this stuff, the more money we can raise and it doesn't cost you a thing.
Just a reminder NWL 3 is going to be held in Durham on the 13th Jan. So far, we've only had 2 teams get back to us and we really need more so please let us know if you can make it. It promises to be a really good tournament. We are offering between 3-5 pitches (depending on numbers), changing facilities, showers and a cafe serving hot food and drink. We'd love to have as many teams as possible come - it's actually quite a nice place!
If you are interested or have any questions please reply to this address: nwl3durham@... with the following details
Contact name e-mail
Phone no. University Team name No. of teams Accommodation on Sat night needed (if so for how many?) Late start required? Any teams you do/don't especially want to play
Then, please send cheques for £25 per team, made payable to 'Durham Ultimate Frisbee', to:
Gary Hall 22 Homewaters Avenue Sunbury-On-Thames Middlesex TW16 6NS
It'd be great to have you guys along.
Also, If you'd like to come but don't think that your whole team would be up for it then still let me know. We're hoping to organise a pick up team as we also have quite alot of spare college players! Obviously you won't have to pay the whole £25!
I've got to mention, though, that the pitches we have are right next to the river and, as such, are very temperamental. They are hugely dependent on the weather and if we get alot of rain close to the event the pitches will be cancelled at quite short notice. I must stress that this is the prerogative of the university ground staff and has nothing to do with us. I will therefore keep you informed as much as possible with regard to the state of the pitches. It is unlikely that they will be cancelled and we will do everything we can to prevent it, but it is only fair to let you know the situation.

Hi,
Unfortunately we won't be able to get enough people for duf 2, so we will only
be sending one team.
Thanks

Hi Doug. Is NWL2 full yet? York weren't sure if we had enough players to
enter a competitive team but should definitely know if we are able to come
by tomorrow. All things going to plan, I can email you our details tomorrow
as well as sending the cheque. Unless of course all the places are already
taken...

Hiya guys!
Would just like to extend an offer of accomodation on Saturday evening
to everyone who is attending NWL1 here in Hull! Everything is shaping
up nicely for a fantastic day of ultimate, and we are looking forward
to seeing loads of you there! Still plenty of space for anyone not yet
entered!
Drop me an email to nwl1hull@... if your interested in
coming along, or if your already coming and want accomodation, slap me
with an email to the same address, letting me know how many people your
bringing and how many cars/minibuses (parking is sometimes an issue in
certain areas in hull...espcially around student housing...but we
should be able to sort it for you!)
Cheers guys,
Matt W - Hulltimate
Apologies to all who tried to join NWL_Ultimate or Northern_Uni_Ultimate from the 15th October.
I asked Lucy (the old northrc) to transfer the ownership of the mailing lists to the northrc account so i could moderate, approve membership etc. She went off travelling and on the 15th October transferred the ownership ... but to my old unused personal account which i just went to close and found i was owner of some groups. Anyway, I've sorted it all out and you can now access the group and browse and get the messeges.
- £35 per Team (you can enter as many as you like!)
- Make cheques payable to "Glenn Culbard"
- Write your team name on the back! - Send them to: 27 Auckland Avenue, Hull, HU6 7SE - Alternate payment methods available on request please contact nwl1hull@...
Register:
- If you wish to attend please email: nwl1hull@... with your Team Name, Contact Name, Email & Mobile.
Details:
- 5 Full size - LINED (and hopefully scoreboarded) Pitches. - Hot Showers and changing rooms will be provided in the Sports
Center, which is less than 50 meters from the pitches. - Ample free
parking, with local shops less than 40 meters from the sports centre, selling
drinks and stuff. - As its on campus, Sanctuary, the SU bar will be open all day
serving hot drinks and hot food. - A few First Aiders and 999 on speed dial just in case. Schedule:
- TBD* : You will play 5 different teams & hopefully your games will get harder/more even as the day goes on but no guarantees.
If you have any questions please contact nwl1hull@....
success ... we have a bid for NWL 1 - 18th November!
If for some reason you would like to submit a rival bid, you have until Monday (22nd Oct) 9.00am to register your interest in doing so and then until Friday (26th Oct) to send me all the details. I would really prefer if you could host any of the OTHER 4 NWL events (see www.nwl2007.co.nr for dates) but if this is the only one you think you can do then please do get in touch as i will consider it fairly.
Thanks,
Luke T
ps: details for what your bid should include can be found on the website also. www.nwl2007.co.nr
Liverpool Ultimate are not trying to compete with NWL just offer teams as much Winter Ultimate as possible with the Tour season being brought forward next year. We fully intend to enter a team in NWL when it gets up and running.
We have 4 quality pitches booked and accommodation at the ready for teams who need to travel long distances or teams that would like to stay for a few beers afterwards. We have also planned a pick up/ hat game for any eager beavers on Sunday.
If you would like to take part in any/all the events please let me know via e-mail or register on-line at iloveultimate.co.uk

The Ladder league website http://www.regionalultimate.co.uk should help you to set up a lader league event. essentially, all you need is a pitch and a couple of teams to play a friendly game.
This is Alan, the captain of flatball. We may be
interested in playing some of these ladder league
games. How specifically do we go about arranging a
fixture on one of the dates? Is there a list of teams
that are wanting to play on each date?

Hope you're all doing well and yearning to play some proper Northern Outdoor Winter Freezingour****off Ultimate... so ... Winter League? Please join the Mailing List to stay informed as all future communication will be going through here. (
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/NWL_Ultimate/) also all this information and more will be available at www.NWL2007.co.nr The provisional dates (set the same nationally) are as follows:
NWL 1 - 18th November
NWL 2 - 9th December
NWL 3 - 13th January
NWL 4 - 10th February - clashes with Mix & Mingle so unless anyone objects moving it to: 3rd February (UWIN weekend).
NWL 5 - 9th March - clashes with Club Indoor Nationals ... may move to April 20th if enough people want to.
In the recent past, winter league events have been seperate entities with different schedules and different aims, some to get a winner for 1 event, some to play as many games as possible. The aim this year is to run a flexible league:
Your team attends as many (all hopefully) or as few winter league events as you can make.
To start you will play against as many other teams as possible, then once you've played everyone once, you'll move to play teams of a similar standard, eventually playing close, tight games that will push you to play at your best.
The results will all be recorded and submitted to the National Ladder League Database thingy ... AND ... there will be overall placements for teams at the end of the league. So the more events you can make it to the greater the chance of winning the league.
If there are any funds left over from the tiny fee charged for attending an event then we'll sort out some prizes, for now do it for the glory!
NWL is an open league anyone can attend, Uni teams are welcome to bring open players along and in the past there has been at least 1 or 2 teams per event that could do with a few more players so feel free to get in touch if you want to pickup for a team.
Now the NWL will only run if teams want it to, it only works if people get involved. With that in mind we need people/teams to host the winter league events. If you think you'd like to host a NWL event but aren't sure where to start or want some more info please get in touch (
northrc@...). To start you'll need at least space for 4 (pref more) full size pitches, Good place to find these things are: Local Parks / Sports Clubs / Schools / University Grounds. & Cones, but you can charge each team a little so you can buy some if you need to - i have a nice good cheap source btw. Everything else is desirable but at worst can be done without.
If you want to host 1 or more events please email me (northrc@...) with the following details:
It would also be
really helpful if you could provisionally let us know if you're
interested in attending the winter leagues so we can get as organised
as possible.
Thanks lots. Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers

Unless anyone has any problems with it, I hope to be organising the structure behind Winter League this year. (following on from the North RC - Lucy Pages, doing it last year). Going to talk with Chris (aussie) and anyone else who has expressed an interest in doing something.
NWL is a completely open event which in recent years has been quite skewed towards the Uni scene ... why? not sure but I think it has something to do with the much higher ratio of Uni to Open teams in the North and the quite wide gap between the teams available to play. Chevron wupped everyone's ass at a NWL event they turned up to. Anywho It's all up for discussion - meanwhile "the plan" will be out very soon.
All details will be out by Sunday, Including a Website and (hopefully) a more formalised structure, to the organisation, results, scheduling and overall aim of the NWL.
Liverpool Ultimate (LUWL) are offering a similar set up to the NWL, but it's on the last weekend of each month (not Dec), where as NWL is on the second weekend. The idea was to create a league that had a guarenteed location and guarenteed numbers of teams throughout the league, rather than the last minute re-organisation that happened in the NWL last year (that ended up with Liverpool hosting 3 of the 4 events and a fifth for fun). It's also on a Saturday, which better suits public transport and tends to be the training day for many teams (therefore leaving one day free in the weekend). The LUWL does clash with some other tournaments, but we have a good number of teams signed up already for all the events (don't know figures as I'm not organising), so this is obviously only a problem for some.
So they are two separate events and you are welcome to enter either one or both.
For information on the five event LUWL (I think there is still limited space available), email Richie at richie5_6@....

Hey guys, just a quick question and sorry if its already been covered, are all the Winter league fixtures going to be held in Liverpool? If this is the case it seems a bit unfair to other clubs across the region who won't get to host a tournament or worse cannot attend due to distance. Cheers Dan Halcyon
